Unfortunately did not work for us.

Unfortunately this product did not work for us, I was hoping it would get rid of the calcium buildup on my plaster, but it did not, I had to revert back to my local pool supplier' product to do the job. Its a bit more pricey but it got the job done unlike this product. However, this was recommended by a pool service tech that we personally know so I'm not sure why it didn't work for us.

This is an effective way to decrease scale buildup in pool. There is another from this company that I like even better but unfortunately not sure of name of product. Used in the past with great results. This is still a good product however.
Save your money.

I gave this stuff my best shot. We have very hard water here and we had a white residue all around the pool tile. First tried a tiny bit of Muriatic Acid on it to see if it indeed was calcium buildup. The stain "sizzled" and was gone almost immediately. Raised water level over tile stains as instructed and lowered chlorine to <1ppm. Put two 64 oz bottles into 25,000 gal pool in April 2017, then religiously added another 64 oz every month for the entire 2017 swim season. pH was maintained at 7.4. Come August 2017, the stain was a little better but still there. I ended up diluting some Muriatic Acid 50/50 into a plastic bucket ( Remember Chemistry class? Always add acid to the water, not vice versa!). I lowered the water level to just below the stain, got into the pool and went around the tile with a toothbrush putting just a little of the dilute acid on and letting it work in for a couple minutes, then just splashed water on it to rinse off. I worked in about 5 foot sections doing this all around the pool and spa. Viola - the stain was gone. Ultimately spent over $250 on this ScaleTec product which did not work, yet about 8 Oz of Muriatic Acid ( maybe $10??) did the trick.
Two bottle of this product did not work for me.

This product was my second bottle. I purchased the first bottle at a local pool supply store. When I returned to let him know it didn't work, he said I might need a second bottle. I purchased that bottle here and after two bottles, the scale is still on my tile. The water has been above the tile the entire time between the rain and my filling the pool. This product doesn't work.

We re-plastered our pool last year and changed over to salt system. My granddaughters started coming out of the pool this summer with bloody feet!. I tried to keep on top of the ph, it continued to go high. I understand this is the reason for the scale , along with the calcium coming through the new plaster causing a rough sandpaper feel.
I ordered scaletec plus hoping it would help. For a 18 X 38 pool I used two containers. It has definitely made a big difference. The girls no longer have a problem.. My advice is use recommended dose( well worth it at the price of a new pool) keep the ph on the lower side and brush, brush, brush!! I reordered another container so I can add it to water at the beginning of next season.
