Lots of build quality problems, but still fun

The football is fun, but it suffers from some manufacturing problems. First, the two halves of the ball are not centered. There is a 3-4mm overlap on both sides, in opposite directions. When the two halves were joined, they were not aligned properly.
Second, there a several bubbles in the foam on the surface of the ball, like potholes. The coloring is a film over the surface, which covers the bubbles, at least until you've thrown it a few dozen times, at which point the film sloughs off and exposes the potholes. The film itself also came out of the box with a bunch of extra bits folded over or stuck to random spots on the ball.
Finally, the packaging around the football pressed into the surface of the ball and left permanent indentations. In four spots, there are long indentations and surface marring that has not gone away after a week of use. Nor has it appreciably improved.
The color film on the surface has already torn slightly in several places. We have an older POOF Spiral without most of these defects, but it also has degraded rather quickly.
Still, the football is fun, and it's easy for kids to catch and throw. The only issue from a performance perspective is the misaligned halves. It's easy to feel the big seams in your hand - lopsided and harder to control. This, coupled with the durability and other build quality concerns, means you might be better off with a different product.
