Pop out door opens, but does not close. Very cheap, now I have to buy vent that works. Amazon should not sell this product.

This will work great for redirecting the dryer exhaust from going out the roof. That means a shorter distance so that there is no backup that a professional dryer vent person has to clean yearly. I can clean it after each laundry day or cycle and drastically reduce energy usage to dry the clothes more efficiently.

I had to measure and cut the cylinder since it was too long going through the wall to the back of the dryer. A pair of tin snips took care of that. Once it was the right size it was easy to put in. It definitely opens and works when the dryer is on, however it does NOT close tightly and leaves a slight gap when the dryer stops. This can allow the weather and cold air to get in. If anyone has found a resolve to that issue... please let me know.

This product seals the outside vent very tightly preventing the back-flow of moisture laden air that can increase your inside humidity, make the vent pipe clog up frequently by allowing moisture to condense in the pipe sticking the lint to the pipe.and increase your heating and cooling costs. I had pints of water collecting in the dryer from the outside air. My dryer vent pipe is PVC under a slab with a 22 foot run and my case may be extreme, but I know of no other alternative automatic method of completely sealing the dryer vent. An annual toothbrush cleaning of the easily disassembled valve is all that is required.
