Nailed it!

The Hitachi pin nailer worked fantastic. I bought it to fix some kitchen cabinet trim pieces that were installed with short pins. I hooked up the new Hitachi to my old compressor from Sears and put the trim back up in minutes. It went so smoothly, I decided to reinforce the other cabinet trim since they all needed longer pins. This is a great nailer to have in the toolbox. I can see using it to fix or build furniture. Also, I really like the kit it comes in. Easy to take with you if you're helping out friends and family with a job.
The only thing missing from my kit was the hex wrench, but since I have multiple sets of those I just grabbed one and tested screw tightness.
Great tool and great price

Used it today for the first time and drove 3/4" pins into hard maple with no issues. Perfectly flush and no marring of the surface. Bought this because it was highly rated by Fine Woodworking magazine. I totally agree. Ready to start more projects. Wasn't sure why I'd need a pin nailer, but it is very nice for smaller pieces that you can glue and set with the pin nailer and not worry about seeing them.
Worked great at the higher air pressures

I do a lot of model building and use many nailers of all sizes. My older pin nailer was limited to 3/4 inch pins so I purchased this one. It works just as advertised. No surprises. I just finished making 96 risers for raised track for a model L train and this pin nailer functioned perfectly shooting 1 3/8 inch pins at 80 to 100 PSI. Below that pressure it seemed to get whimpy. Still worked but was not reliable. Sometimes did not seat pins all the way in. But only at the lower pressures which seems reasonable. I'm not a fan of the double trigger safety feature but it's there for a reason. Shot about 600 pins without a jam. Loads easy and super quiet.
PERFECT!!!!

Perfect for trim. I tack on my door casing now with this before I use my 15 gauge . I even nail my base outer and inner corners together now with this for prefect trim. If you miss, pliers pull it out with ease.
Good gun, works good, small, I recommend it.

It's just the first day, but this gun is sinking 3/4" pins below the surface every shot in hard maple. I doubt I'll ever us 1 3/8 but I'm going to try them and 1" just to let you know and myself. My friend owns a cabinet shop and recommended this gun to me. I like how small it is, that will come in very handy one day. The only negative I see is it only holds one rack of nails and doesn't have dry fire lockout. Put up a long piece of scribe and wonder why half is falling, that it.
For reference on how hard the material is, I've bought five different 18 gauge staplers to blind nail 1 1/2" staples to hold up 3/4" t&g maple. The smaller square senco works best but still jambs and doesn't sink the nail every time, porter cable was next best, then hitachi... None sink a staple every time into this material.
