Versatile chin-up bar that works very well for me. The only drawback is that the foam is not really robust enough to withstand an outdoor environment and sun exposure very well. I wouldn't fault the manufacturer for this, most people have their home gyms in the garage not on the back patio like I do. Still, I will have to figure out how to replace the grips fairly soon. I doubt they will last a year and already have splits in them. I'll probably use tennis racket tape.

I did a lot of research before buying this pull up bar and it didn't disappoint. It is well built and the multiple grips are very helpful. The only issues I had were with the hardware. The directions mentioned two different colors of washers, bolts, etc. but everything was black. No sizes were given so I had to go by sight. I was also missing hardware. Kind of a bummer when you go to install a piece of equipment and realize you don't have all the parts needed. I was also hanging the bar in the garage on a beam. The bolts were not long enough to go through the beam and the bar and I had to make another trip to the hardware store. Minor issues really and if I had more free time, it would have all been done in a day. In the end, it took me forever to get it hung up but was worth the wait.

I removed the foam pads covering where your hands grip as they seemed to move a lot. Under the foam the metal is textured and I found that to be much easier to grip.

My house was 30 years old, so I was concerned with installing anything to my floor joist in my basement. I just made sure the holes are in the center of the beam (anything close to the edge I heard reduces the strength of the joist) and everything seems sturdy. Putting together the bar was super easy. The hardest part was drilling the holes into my floor joist. It was pretty solid wood so it took me a few hours sitting there with my drill and drill bit. I had to go out and get a drill bit that they recommended...that only cost me $9. After the holes were drilled, it was easy to put the bar up. I've been using the bar for the last month and it works great. It doesn't move and I have plenty of head room between the joist. This is way nicer than my P90x over the door chin up bar. It's very solid and sturdy. I would definitely recommend. And don't worry, your floor joist will hold it and you (just make sure to put the holes in the center). I am a 6'1" guy at 195lbs.

This is very solid and well built. I did have to buy different bolts as I attached it through two 2x8s, but the enclosed bolts would have worked fine on a single joist. If I remove the run to the hardware store, installation took maybe 20 minutes.
