These are hell to put together but once they're up they put out a good amount of light. This will be very suitable for any dslr footage. I'm happy with the product. Are these stands extremely heavy duty? NO! Why would they be? What cheap a** is purchasing this because they wan't extreme quality? You're purchasing this because you don't have the money to buy a set that costs $1200 so expect to get what you're paying for. Honestly I'm not sure how they can afford to sell this product for 150 considering all it comes with.

Overall very happy with this. For the low cost of one session with a department-store photographer I was able to use this gear to take portraits far superior to what I have ever done before, and at least par with the department store. If you are an amateur on a tight budget and want to do some portraits or product shots this gear is GREAT for the price. There are some problems but they are not show-stoppers. The instructions are terrible and it's not obvious or easy how to put this together. But, it's not rocket science either, you can't really screw up and after about 90 minutes I had it done. The kit comes in a carry case but don't kid yourself. It is not easily collapsible and will not easily store in the case after you've removed it all from the protective shipping boxes. It would take about half an hour to disassemble it all, and another 45 minutes to put it all back together again. There are twelve large, fragile light bulbs and unless you unscrew each one and put each back in its original package, the carry case will not protect them from breakage. The kit is very light weight, I would not recommend it for professional use or frequent movement. The backdrops are thin and needed ironing when they arrived. All these complaints are minor and just so you know what you're getting into. Again, for the low price, the results are fantastic. The lights can run at 50% or 100% brightness. I got a nice high-key portrait by using 1 to light the backdrop and another at half power to light the face, with the third providing some side light from a distance to create some shadows. I WOULD GIVE THIS FIVE STARS (given the low price) if the carrying case were not so stupidly designed to only function with all the original cardboard and styrofoam still intact. EASY PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT: Ship two, smaller, carrying cases -- one smaller one with some foam for the three light heads with bulbs still in them, the other, also smaller one, for everything else.

This kit is exactly what I wanted... something relatively easy to setup and tear down, that was big enough to do wide shots, but small enough to work in our spare room. I would recommend purchasing a package of at least 6 spring clamps to hold the fabic taught... Just be careful about leaving the clamps on for long periods of time - they can leave rust marks on your fabric.

The instructions aren't great, but if you've ever set up Ikea furniture you'll be fine. The softboxes are a little tricky, but if you install the pegs into the end of the box that is stitched closed (as opposed to open-ended velcro), it's very easy to slide the other pegs in and velcro shut at the other end...

I realize that doesn't make a whole lot of sense right now, but believe me, this will make your life a whole lot easier when you start to put it together :)

Also, if you pay attention to how it is packaged, you can fit everything back in the bag without any trouble. Just be careful of the zipper - it's a little flimsy and could break easily.

That being said, I'm still rating this 5 stars - the product is EXACTLY what is says it will be, and is offered here for a great price. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend :)

I liked this when I bought it unfortunately I was flooded out In hurricane Harvey & is was destroyed.

so I didn't get much use out of it or get to take pics of it to review. But I would buy it again.

This is a great product for first timers, and even professionals. The lights work great. The stands were extremely easy to set up, while the soft boxes posed some difficulty, but I still managed to put it together with patience. I would have to say the only thing I find the least interesting about this deal is the backdrop screens. The size is great on all and all arrived with no tears or anything like that. But, once set up and elevated they were so transparent that you could see right through them. It almost went against the necessity for having to set up a backdrop in the first place. I ended up having to throw one of my jet black window curtain screens over the one that came with this package, so that I could have the proper solid black backdrop set up for my stills and scenes. I will end up having to purchase a better material for the green screen and white screen as those are pretty see-through themselves. Overall, this deal was an okay purchase because of the lights that came with it.
