Why not?

I have never seen a 3/8" drive spinner handle before, but stumbled across this while looking for another 1/4" drive spinner. I thought - why not? There are many circumstances where there is not enough lateral space to use a wrench or an extension on a socket wrench, unless it is very long. There are also situations where the danger of overtightening is an issue. With the mechanical advantage of a ratchet wrench or break-over, it is sometimes difficult to "feel" the overtightening point approaching, thus breaking or severely weakening the fastener. With the substantially less mechanical advantage of a screwdriver type handle, this is much harder to do. Very good addition to my toolbox, and "heirloom" quality to last for generations.
Very good, hard-to-find tool.

I can't believe that hardly anyone makes a 3/8" spinner handle. I'm glad that this one is actually a decent tool since it's almost the only one available. This is a nice, heavy tool with a comfortable handle. I was always using an adapter with any of my 1/4" spinner handles and am glad that I finally now have a good socket driver that I don't need an adapter to use.
Sometimes you don't need a wrench

Sometimes you don't need to apply much torque to a bolt. I already have several sets of 3/8" sockets so this was a no-brainer. This is much faster than a wrench and often good enough to torque down most nuts and bolts. The handle is very comfortable and it's a very solid piece. I thought Williams was still made in the USA, but this is from Taiwan. I'm not going to spend $50 for a Snap-On.
Another tool I just all the sudden had to have once I knew it existed.

I have to say that it seems like a very good quality tool. Substantial, hefty and feels good in the hand. Made in Taiwan. Doesn't roll around on the bench. Feels like I'll be able to get more torque on it than a nutdriver. I wouldn't want to abuse it by putting a long bar in the handle hole and putting the amount of force on it I'd use with a ratchet and extension, but I wouldn't be afraid to stick a heavy Phillips through that hole up to its handle and apply a little more force than I can bare handed loosening a nut.

I keep a small(ish) set of tools in the house so I don't have to run down to the shop every time I need to work on some household chore and I think I'll keep it handy for that.
Great Tool, Well Constructed
Tony Stark✓ Verified PurchaseMay 29, 2016
This is a well constructed Spinner handle, and the shaft is 3/8" thick just like the head. Generally, this tool is hard to find in hardware stores, and when you do find it, its often a cheaper style (where people have cut back on the materials a little, and it looks a little more prone to snapping). For the price this is a great buy and great tool.
