I bought 2 of these and neither of them work when converting component a/v to HDMI from both a Wii and a DVD player to either my 32" AOC TV or my 65" Samsung TV. I don't know if I just got 2 bad units or if they just don't work except for in certain cases. Either way, not worth my time and money. I've returned both units for a refund.

This worked fine, but for only about half of my DVDs. I'm an electrical engineer and I could not find any kind of correlation about what DVDs worked and which didn't. This product would just give me a message on screen that said something like Hxxx.xx Vxx.xx Not Supported, where the x's were random digits.
Instead of trying to find compatible a VHS/DVD player (if there is one) I just decided to cut my losses and buy an HDMI dvd/VHS player.

Received my order when and as Predicted. Told kids to bring the XBOX 360 back out. Had ordered a new 4k TV and it only brings HDMI Cables.
Kids quickly plugged in 5 of the 6 Cables leaving out the yellow into this component. They waited as I plugged in the HDMI cable to the back of this box to the TV. All I can say is they ran around screaming "YES-YES" ...and that put a smile on my face. Original XBOX 360 was not made to show/play 4K quality, So don't get discouraged, purpose of component converter is to convert to hdmi. It works 100%,

Works great. I have my TV's HDMI cable ran through my walls in a "Z" shape...so no way to fish new wire through easily. My HDMI plug broke and my new TV only had HDMI inputs. Luckily I ran the 6 componet cables through the wall with the HDMI...so...I bought multiple adapters that were HDMI to Component, even though advertised other-wise...I finally found out that there is a difference between Component to HDMI...well, now I know...and THIS was exactly what I needed. Only down-side is that it has to be plugged into a power outlet to work. Not a big enough downside to remove any stars though, honestly if you need this...it is more than likely you messed up and this is the cheapest/easiest fix.

It does exactly what its supposed to do - converts your component based item (in my case an old school original X-Box) to HDMI to plug into your receiver or TV. It did successfully convert the audio and video. However the first one I received had a lot of audio interference - so much so teat I exchanged for another one. The second one is better but still not clean and quiet. I did some cable rerouting to try to avoid this, but had no success. The second one is an acceptable level for me, but it would drive audiophiles crazy I'm sure. You get what you pay fro and this one was very economical so,,, Also it has an obnoxious blue LED that lights up a dark room - nothing a bit of electrical tape wont cover up though :)
