This was great. Needed it for just a few weeks after a hip surgery but didn't want to spend a fortune. This might not be as stable as some of the expensive models (I don't know, never tried the expensive ones) but I found it to be just fine. It was a bit too short for an oval shaped toilet but I just put a long cardboard cylinder (like from kitchen towels) at the back to fill the gap. Best thing, it was so light that I could just easily remove it (and the cardboard roll) and then close the lid to flush, and then replace them.

I needed a riser after knee replacement surgery and this one fit the bill perfectly. I didn't want to unscrew my regular toilet seat to install a riser, as so many require, since my need would be temporary. This riser sits on the toilet bowl after the seat is lifted up. Depending upon the shape and size of the bowl, it may slide a bit when you sit on it, but not enough to be a hazard.
I'm really pleased with the simplicity of this riser, and the reasonable cost.
