This nice, heavy stocking holder is solid metal and nicely detailed. Easily held our Christmas stockings in place. Highly recommended.

I found the picture to be representative of the actual product that I received. I bought two of them. Both were of equal quality and finish. That indicates there's probably good consistency in the manufacturing and finishing. Pinecones themselves are constructed in multiple layers held together by a single screw that comes in from the bottom of the base. I found the screws on both of the pinecones that I purchased to be loose but easily fixed with a flat bladed screwdriver. The two pinecones I purchased were adequately packed in basic cardboard and padding - it was actually a refreshing change from the gaudy, colorful blister packaging that you often get with many products.
The bottom of the base is just a hollowed out piece of cast-iron. That's adequate for its use but there is no padding or rubber to prevent scratching of a mantle if you put it on it. I have a stone mantle so it was no issue for me. If that is a worry for you, it would be fairly easy to put some kind of rubber on the bottom to prevent it from marring any wood or paint on a mantle you may put it on. They are heavy enough for what you might consider to be normally weighted Christmas stockings, (if there is such a thing!)
At $27 apiece, that's a little high-priced in my opinion for what you get. However they do look pretty good.

Bought four. Love them. Once nestled into the pine garland on my fireplace, they are very realistic looking! They should last a very long time
Broken hook

While I like the look of this and I bought it to match other holders I already have, it arrived broken. The part to hang the stocking on is broke and it isn't level so it moves a little. Planning on emailing, would like to have a replacement sent. Unfortunately likely won't get before Christmas so will have to make due with the broken one until replaced. Trying to post a picture.
