Never ever discontinue this product,went to Lowes got junk went to Home Depot got as well junk.
If you have to replace your Dryer Vent cap to the outside Wall on your house, than this is the product what you need, it is made
from sturdy steel and not from the Homebuilder markets and on Top Amazon offred a super duper Price.Great.

arrived in good shape (big box with lots of air padding), was long enough (11" I had to cut it down), fit fine and works fine. I wish these came with the padding under the draft flap (I added some, which works great with this because the flap hing allows the flap to sit farther out, like it was designed to have the padding... and some mesh to prevent critters from getting it (I added this too). using for a stove hood vent

You would think a dryer vent would be a simple thing to engineer, but all of the models at Home Depot were garbage. They had plastic parts that were easily broken, the vent pipe needed to be attached (and easily came undone), and used parts that will ultimately fail. I decided to look on Amazon, and this is the model you want to buy.

This deflecto unit was less money, all one piece, and won't break down. It's simple and effective, and gets the job done. 5-stars.

Good quality and heavy duty vent. I've used enough chepo-vents and this one has a nice heft to it, especially the hood. The flapper seems to work well and is gravity-held - no springs. I'd buy it again.

I was looking around doing some research for an exhaust vent. Lowes and Home Depot offerings couldn't beat what I found with the Deflecto for cost, quality, and potential for durability.
It is a quality made exhaust vent for dryer or bathroom/kitchen exhaust. The seller's picture is accurate, and there is also a damper flap that cannot be seen in the photo. I purchased 3. The box of 3 arrived very well packed and wrapped. Zero damage or issues with my vents.

It is paintable. It seems like it is going to last years. It is not flimsy plastic or wimpy metal. It is a galvanized metal. Perhaps you may hear the flap damper if wind lifts it or when it's in use, if you listen for it. I am sure there are workarounds if it really bothers someone. Petra Industries Inc got it right when they made this. I am glad there is pride in building things to withstand years of exposure to the elements.

This is worth the buy if you need to vent something to the exterior of your house/shed/place.
For the price and quality, I highly recommend this.
