This worked better than I expected! Tore one of the pads in half and it worked for 2 bowls. Saving the extra pad for the next time. Works better than anything else I've used to remove the hard sediment line in the bowl.

It works like a flexible pumice stone! It gets into crevices (like around the sink drain) and molds to the curved shape of the toilet bowl. I have ordered these several times. They don't last as long as a pumice stone, but they work sooo much better and faster.

Our home is on well water which has very high mineral content, to the point where the trees trunks are orange wherever the sprinklers hit them! This orange discoloration is literally everywhere that comes in contact with our water and the toilets are the worst. There is an orangish-brown build up in every toilet and it has been there since we moved in 10 years ago. I tried all the normal stuff to remove it, including CLR type products and pumice stones which ended up scratching the toilet bowl (whoops), but nothing took the stains away completely. I thought I'd give these a try and I'm glad I did because they worked. It takes A LOT, like A LOT, of elbow grease, but the pads can remove even the 20+ year old stains. The process was slow since it took significant scrubbing and I would not want to do any larger area or do this regularly but if you have the time and the energy you could make an old, nasty toilet look new. I cut them in half since it's only the small area where you can really press hard that will get the stain off. The pads seem to get 'used up' relatively quickly; one half pad was pretty much useless after one toilet.

Much better than a pumice stone. Was able to get hard water ring and other scale build-up on neglected expensive toilet completely removed. I won't say it was effortless; but it was nearly so. Toilet looks new.

I meant to write a review when I bought these a few years ago...they are absolutely amazing for removing impossible mineral stains in the toilet. But today I decided to seriously tackle the kitchen sink, which had 5 years worth of mineral deposits around the base of the faucet, etc. I tried Lysol hard water stain remover on half, let that soak in for 5 min, and it barely loosened the deposits. A little crud came off. I scrubbed with a magic eraser...a teeny bit came off. I remembered these Shaw's pads, got a new one and it's like a miracle. One swipe where the stains had been loosened, and a few swipes on the bare stains and they were gone. Simply amazing little plastic pad and ....no bad fumes. Wish I took a before pic.
