I bought this even though no one had reviewed it yet, but I figured I would give it a chance. I am a new photographer starting a business and this seemed to be exactly what I would need. I was pleasantly surprised that I was right. I came in a smaller bag that what I imagined it would. when I opened it up their were really easy to follow instructions on how to put it together.i went together very easily. seems sturdy enough without the use of weights on the stands. the light bulbs that came with it could be a little brighter, but it is fine. also the length of muslin that comes with it is slightly smaller than advertised. but all round it is a great starter studio for anyone I think. also one other thing of note: the bar at top is not adjustable it some in three pieces that click together if you want it smaller you can take out the middle one, but that is all the adjusting you can do.

This is a great kit for the money. I will get a lot of use out of it. One of the lights quit working a few weeks later (switch went bad), but the company replaced it for me.

It is a great buy for a beginner kit! My only compliant is that i wish the back ground sheets were non transparent, otherwise great for the price!

As a person who lives in Ohio and finds myself taking quite a few photographs for my blog, I found that the weather does not always cooperate and I needed to finally invest in an indoor setup. After a bit of research, I finally settled on this lighting kit for my first.

After trying it out, I have to say that it is definitely a good inexpensive starter set. If you are going to be taking the kit with you, it is easy to transport and comes in a nice compact bag which is great for someone who is on the go. I found that it is fairly easy to set up and take down, and did not experience any difficulty at all in that area. I would estimate I had it out of the box and completely set up and ready for use for the first time in under 10 minutes, and that included reading the instructions. Now that I am familiar with the set up and take down process I would say it takes me under 5 minutes each time.

Overall, I would say that the set is nice and sturdy. It stands up nicely and I didn't feel like it was ever in any danger of falling at any time. In my opinion, the white muslin background could stand to be a bit thicker but I feel that it is decent for the price. As with anything, it is not going to be of the highest quality at a discount price but it looks nice and gets the job done, which is what I was looking for as a beginner.

My photos came out nicely, and the included bulbs could be a bit brighter but I would say that they provided a nice even amount of light for the image.

A truly professional or experienced photographer may want to invest the extra money for a more expensive set, but for someone like me who is just starting out this set does everything I need and worked perfectly. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone else looking to experiment with an indoor lighting kit.

Just getting into the off-camera flash realm, and enjoying it immensely. It was a pain creating a backdrop with some clamps, a ladder, and scrap cloth (though it worked!) so, thought I'd go the intro route by purchasing the kit pictured. The backdrop is fine: stands weren't difficult to set up (despite some reviews I read), though a tad flimsy. Backdrop muslins are rather thin, but a few camera setting alterations takes care of that. However, the lights weren't with the package I received; nor the case pictured. I believe I got another, less expensive setup sent to me by mistake. I've contacted ePhoto twice, but haven't heard back yet. I'll chat with Amazon next, since they've been very good at resolving issues such as these. If I receive the rest of the items, I'll update my review on them.
UPDATE - Jan 2015 - The company was kind enough to send me a replacement, with the missing items, though I had to ship back the remainder to them (the whole kit was sent). Still used it several times since, and it's not a bad setup for the price.
