Once they realized it doesnt have to be brightly colored, my cockatiles loved it.

Our one cockatiel, which we were hoping was a male, started laying eggs. I was reading that brightly colored, varied foods (the only thing she would eat) could be a trigger for laying, so I switched her to these. Once she was forced to eat them, she seems to like them, and has stopped laying at 5. I was going to reorder, but I have a hard time paying more per pound than the most expensive food we eat -- and we don't throw a quarter to a third of our food on the floor. I will look for an equally healthy alternative, but this does seem like high quality food. Just wish the price was more reasonable. I paid $7 less per pound for nearly the same stuff for our finches, so what's the deal?
Best pellets on the market, and birdie likes!

I was nervous at first that my new parakeet wouldn't eat this, but he seems to like it. When I first brought him home, I offered 2 bowls: one with a mix of seeds and pellets, and one with just pellets. No surprise, he liked the seeds better. However, one day when I took out the seed dish to clean it, he went over to the pellets-only dish and started eating. Now I free-feed him pellets so he can always have something healthy to eat whenever he's hungry. I sprout some of the seed and use unsprouted seed for foraging toys and millet for training. This way, I know that the base of his diet is wholesome, but he's motivated to work for small, controlled amounts of seed and millet. The pellets are just the right size for his beak, they are about the size of millet seeds.
Saved my bird's life!

In my opinion, this is the best pellet diet out there for birds. My vet's office is who originally introduced this product to me 20 years ago. It literally saved my cockatiel's life! I wish they weren't as pricey as they are, though, but I still give this to my birds as a "treat" along with a less expensive pelleted product. However, when I'm no longer on a limited income, I plan to give Harrison's to my birds in larger quantities. It's certainly worth the price when you have the money to pay.
Absolutely love this product

Absolutely love this product. Love that it is organic and is a complete and balanced diet for my parakeet. Pellets are an ideal food because the proper nutrition for a happy, healthy bird come in every bite. The fact that the pellets contain no dye is also amazing. Not only is the "Fruity Pebbles" scent no longer a concern, but my budgie doesn't sift through the different colors to avoid red like the plague. I have read mixed reviews on feeding pellets exclusively, so I do mix in Dr. Harvey's seed blend (about 70% pellets, 30% seed mix) and my budgie happily eats both. Highly recommend this product. I'm fairly confident that even the finickiest eaters will go for this one!
Great for my parakeets health!

My birds (2 parakeets) absolutely love this food! They were on an all seed based diet before switching to this all organic food. Be aware that before you feed your birds any of the other kinds of food from this brand you are supposed to feed them the high potency food for at least 6 months. My birds coats look phenomenal. I was also having a problem with one of my birds cere. The cere was inflamed and brown. After feeding him this food his cere went down dramatically. I never had a problem with them not eating it. The super fine size is perfect for my parakeets. If the food was any bigger I don't think my birds would be able to eat it. (buy the 3 pound bag from Harrisons website because it's cheaper)
