It works on most surface scratches but it's not cure-all for damaged discs.

This removed surface scratches from most of the 10 'thrift store' CDs I tried it on and it restored skip-free playability to all but 2 of them. Depending on how badly the disc is scratched it may take a couple of attempts to get all the scratches out. Please note that this device does leave visible marks on the disc's surface but those marks do not affect playback because they are perpendicular to the laser reading the disc. But if those marks bother you can also follow up with a finer liquid plastic polish to reduce visibility of those marks. Just don't do that until you're sure you've got all the skips out or you'll just have to do the final polish again..
Worked for the most part (I think).......

This is a review from my 14 yesr old grandson who is using the product:
I've had the skip DR. for about a week, and I think it's working pretty well. I needed to resurface several discs, and it has done a decent job so far. The main issues I've had with it are that I resurfaced a couple of discs and they work for the most part, but then randomly throughout the game, my consle will say it doesn't recognize the disc. I am assuming that this is more of a consle issue ( because if I just take the disc out and put it back in without even touching it, the game keeps playing) which is why I am giving it a 4 star. I have resurfaced a disc close to 20 full rotations and it still has plastic, but still has issues playing, because it has deeper scratches. so I dont know how many times to use the skip DR without breaking the disc. Since the Skip DR
only removes a very little part of the disc, it takes FOREVER if ever to get deeper scratches out. But all in all this product does what it says it should so I would recommend.
Works well for the money

Seems to work pretty well considering the cost

I know disc repair items always have a vast array of buyers saying "it's horrible! contrasted by an equal number saying, "worked fine for me."
Let's call this product what it is: a slapped-together nearly worthless product that embodies only the most basic disc repair technology. I mean, even the their branded 'magical repair tincture tonic super spraying nice-nice" fluid is a joke because it's all water...!
(okay--not ALL, but only like ~.001% is actually anything other than h20: a tiny smidge of what they put in window cleaner...wow). HOWEVER, I have found a simple and inexpensive way to make this thing do what I need it to do. I threw out the stupid liquid first of all. Then I used a home mix recipe for a "first pass" liquid to be used, followed by a "second pass" concoction. The first includes the same wax youd buff your car's paint with. And the second mix was really just windex and warm water. I also found a way to plug this thing into the wall and make it go way faster (which is fine if you manually rotate the disx when preparing.

Did this thing do what I wanted it to? Yes, afte r I used my homemade liquids

Again, it barely cleaned any disc let alone repair the disc when it came outta the box.

Now I love the thing and I'm glad I took the time to tinker with it like I did.
This portable disc repair is a real CHAMP!

It fixes 70% of my DVD/VCD discs that are entirely defective and unusable. The drives I had from 9 years ago used to have a lot of scratches and filthy substances on the lens as well on the outer of the disc which makes it very hard for the DVD player to write it. Whenever I try to play some favorite DVD movies on my PS4, the movie freezes for a couple of minutes and sometimes can't even play it. Luckily, I found this fabulous disk repair tool by Dr Skip and had an initial thought that this stuff could save me a penny of dollars to fix this issue.

After placing an order, it took me around a week and a half to arrive in KUALA LUMPUR, MY, which is very fast. The repair system has two variations. There are motorized and manual ones. I chose the motorized one because it seems much more accessible and efficient. In the box itself contains the disc repair system, six piles of 6 AA batteries, buffing square, drying cloth, and rejuvenating fluid.

How does it work?

It merely rotates the disc in 360 and removes a microscopic layer within the safe buffer zone. To do that, spray the rejuvenating fluid lightly onto the player-side of the drive. This process smooths scratches to restore the disc's underside surface while leaving music, movie, data or game information unaffected. The SkipDr will motorize for quick and easy disc repairs, and it works gently enough to repair the same disc multiple times safely.

The results:

I've put some test on the DVD and a VCD disc. Both CDs had apparent scratches and smudges on it, and I repeatedly did the same process until it worked the way I wanted it to be. The results were terrific!
After the process of resurfacing done, the scratches still left on the lens, but when I played the discs, I could see there was no pausing and loading video, and it saved me from throwing them into the trash.

In conclusion, it's worth buying SKIPDR. Disc repair system with an effective way of fixing damaged discs and user-friendly tool. You could also set lots of CDS for multiple times. It's not itty-bitty stuff and is recommended by me if you're looking for a compact and powerful tool to fix many different discs, SKIPDR. Is by far the BEST!
