Arrived quickly, Product as described, great quality for stamp making.
Good, but not great.

I've tried many rubber and plastic carving plates so I do have some experience with different ones. This one is just ok. It's VERY soft, which on one hand makes it super easy to carve, but also too soft to create details and it's too easy to make mistakes (like carving too much). it's a nice large pad however, and I was able to make several stamp carvings with this block. It's also very easy to cut and shape.
Carves Like Butter and Prints Details Well
Phare-CampDecember 1, 2015
They are really great relief printing blocks. They hold even fine line details very well. Just make sure not to over ink; they don't absorb anything at all so if you roll ink like a woodblock it will smear and blob when you lay the paper on. Thin rolls work best and don't press hard when you burnish or it will smoosh the rubber and smear. Light hands on the baren work best. Also, very important, check the plate when it arrives, sometimes the person who packs it doesn't back it and the plate splits. Which, I add, be careful how you handle it. The larger rubber plate tears easily. Thick cardboard or the chipboard from the back of a sketch pad will make an adequate support. That said if handled carefully these plates carve like cool butter and hold detail very well, making them a pure pleasure to work with.
