Spicy I clearly in the description&,it is indeed that. Just grab a tissue &get to eating. I gave 4 stars because there's hardly any chicken @all. It's more veggie soup than anything which was disappointing considering how much I do love chicken.

love love love the flavor of this stuff. don't get me started about the hater's. it's the only flavor of soup i get from progresso, way to expensive in the brick and mortar. i found an excellent price from a vendor on this site and ordered 2 cases. at first it was going to be a couple months to receive delivery, but im a patient man and i was willing to wait. 1) to see if i'd truly ever receive the product, and 2) for the price: play the game!
then i received notice of delivery in 2 weeks! now we're talking. then the two cases came to my door! they were taped together, probably to guarantee that what happens to one case will surly happen to the other, s m a r t, lol. because guess what, three of the cans were pierced and leaking all over the two cases. there was such a mess i couldn't tell where the culprit cans were in the mix until i got them inside ( and it smelled bad! it's B.C.B. for goodness sake ) and washed them off and i could set aside the three cans in question. i was still to far in the happy zone that i received them at all. i figured this has to be simple and called up right away and asked CS to credit me the three cans and i'm good to go. mister Bot was super kind and issued that credit right away. with that all done i started dreaming of the times when i'll grab a can from its reserved spot in the soup cabinet and begin to add fresh veggies, rice, fully cooked chicken, more bacon, fresh broccoli, basic spices, heat it all up on the stove then pour it in a real big FW bowl were i'll put much more cheese, because cheese is life. cover it up so the cheese will melt and serve this inspired very hearty soup with avocado slices and sour cream and any cracker of your choosing"¦"¦.

Soooo good! I've always loved this soup, and Progresso brand has the best little meatballs; the spinach can be tasted and it's tender; and the broth is DELISH. I really like that every single spoonful down to the last drop has actual food in it...not just tons of broth. Great flavor and "marriage" of ingredients!

I find this soup absolutely delicious. It's currently my favorite canned soup. A typical lunch for me is a can of this soup with sandwich and a Honeycrisp apple. I would say it's more of a soup than a Jambalaya.

I was extremely disappointed when this soup was discontinued at my local W**MART. I checked Amazon and found that the cost was on par with the W**MART price, so immediately ordered a case. The case arrived quickly, no cans were damaged, and every can was fresh and delicious. A few weeks later I came back to Amazon to buy another case only to find that the price had increased by about 60%. Yikes! I then searched all of my local options and eventually located the Spicy Jambalaya in one grocery store. I cleaned out the shelf (16 cans) and I haven't quite finished these yet nor have I been back to see if the grocery store restocked them.

Is the soup spicy hot?
That's always a difficult question for me to answer because I genuinely AM a chilihead. It certainly does have a kick, and it's more than I would have expected from a canned soup sold in a grocery store. It's enough that I don't feel the need to add in some additional hot sauce. But is it "insanely hot", "too hot", "soup from hell", etc? No way. If you think Tabasco, Sriracha, Cholula, Tapatio, etc. are hot then sure, this soup is too much for you. I'd say the heat level is about what I'd expect if someone were to take a non-spicy soup and add a good dose of their favorite Habanero-based or 6k-8K Scoville hot sauce. Think Scorned Woman, El Yucateo Red, Tabasco Habanero. It's nowhere near the range of sauces containing pepper extract such as those produced by Blair's or Dave's.
