Key features

  • Low speed, 80 RPM masticating style juicing system. Juicer processes at 80 rpm's, squeezing instead of grinding. This allows the juice to maintain its pure color, natural taste, vitamins and nutrients.
  • Dual stage juicer. First, juice is extracted by crushing the fruit or vegetable. Then, before the pulp is ejected, the pulp is squeezed during the second pressed stage. This results in a higher yield of juice and a very dry pulp.
  • Economical since the juicer is so efficient and productive, you'll get the greatest amount of nutrient rich juice from the least amount of fruits, vegetables, leafy greens
  • The low speed system limits froth and foam preventing oxidation. Juice can be stored for up to 72 hours without degradation or juice separation.
  • Three settings: On, Off and Reverse. Reverse is an option to use when something is stuck or you need to unclog.

A very decent juicer
Don Mohle✓ Verified PurchaseJanuary 11, 2018
After about 2 months of use, I can say this a pretty good. juicer. I have previously worn out a horizontal Omega juicer after about 10 years of daily use. Can't complain.

My impression is that this vertical model extracts nearly as well as the horizontal one but is less likely to need cleaning in order to finish a large batch. I recommend a pair of 9" straight hemostats for clearing jams, perhaps not the most common kitchen accessory.

Pluses: It is reasonably easy to clean and does a decent job on vegetables.
It will accept large pieces of softer materials. A whole carrot is likely to jam.
It will produce 32 to 48 oz of juice without stopping to clean.
Rotating screen wiper performs well.
Vertical format fits well on the countertop.
Pulp chute has a silicone rubber flapper valve which swivels out for cleaning.

Minuses: Veggies do need to be cut up: carrots to pencil size, fibrous stuff like celery in short pieces.
Because the grinding screw is shaped to accept large pieces, some material is always left unjuiced in the top of the screw.
The slot for pulp, and pulp chute, is tiny, about 1/8 x 1/2 inch, much smaller than the juice chute.
It jams up with fibrous material like pineapple or celery.
mold buildup (see pic)

After a few months of use, as you see in the picture, mold just keeps building up and I'm not even sure the jucing is doing any good to my family's health or damaging it. We've been cleaning it quite diligently but still can't seem to get rid of the mold. Perhaps it is the material problem I don't know. Be careful of what you sign up.
Omega VRT350 Heavy Duty. Bought the refurbished unit.

REFURBISHED option $159.95 included shipping, 2 year warranty, Mfg 8/2012, refurbed by authorized Omega center KITCHENDISCOUNT.
Instruction manual, packaging box were new, set inside of heavy duty corrugated cardboard box. Everything came perfectly cleaned, only a few signs of use: few "water" spots on containers, barely noticeable micro scratches on them. I do not know how they cleaned all of the plastic parts because of immaculate condition. I probably got the luck of the draw; but even if I had not, the price was good enough. Hopper, auger, HD Strainer, Auto Cleaning Brush, Bowl, Base, Cleaning brush, Pusher, (2) Containers were all either wrapped, packed, or zip locked. If you do not like clean up this unit is not for you. The Auger, HD, Auto Cleaning, Bowl need cleaning after use. I bought it after much thought, and cleaning is not an issue with me. There will be a little fiber in the juice, which suits me fine--juices should not be gulped like water but masticated; perfect for my needs; other reviewers thought the fiber to be a hindrance. Note: I do not use the heavy duty Cleaning brush; instead I prefer a regular toothbrush. The hardest part of the clean is the Auto Cleaning Brush which inserts into the Bowl (part with pulp ejection spout and juice spout). The Auto Cleaning Brush has extremely tiny perforations that collect the finer residues, and I prefer to rinse and gently brush them away with smaller diameter bristles on a toothbrush. The weight of the unit without assembly is already heavy, a good indication the unit will not skip and move around your counter top. If you try to plug in and test it for power before assembly it will not engage; it is engineered to operate only after you have fully assembled the unit. There is a reverse to the switch if you need to unclog some of the fiber. There is no variable speed, only a forward speed. And the reversal mode requires that you hold the button down, once released it will disengage. The motor is powerful. Just follow the directions to avoid irreparable damage, i.e. using chop sticks or metal spoon instead of hopper to push veggies or fruit. I will never return to a centrifugal juicer for several reasons: vibration hop, filter inserts, decibels, engineering. Originally thought about the Masticating models but needed one for healing purposes to get more nitrogen/oxygen from fresh produce into my physiology with minimal digestion; the Masticating type is perfect for producing an entire meal or course requiring proper chewing; perfect for vegans. Thanks to all that posted previously; without your help it would have been difficult to sort through based on the ad descriptions. Posted 10.17.2017
with VRT350 is fast and easy. To end my review I would recommend VRT350 ...

I would seriously recommend this juicer, to anyone that want a well balanced juicer between vegetables and fruits vis-avis the other series of omega as 8006/8008 class that are mostly focused on masticating vegetables. To put it simply, this juicer outclasses Breville Juice Fountain Juicers series, when it comes down to juicing fruits, less foam/ oxygenized juice. It creates a little more pulp than rest of series, but that from my prespective is positive since pulp is source of fibers and in the end of the day we need some fiber. With vegetables the breville cannot compete. In regards to 8006 / 8007 it does a very similar job with vegetables. The thing is 8006/8007 does very avarge job with fruits and take much longer in term of time. In my prespective VRT 350 surpases the 8006/8007, in term of juicing fruits and time span. The other thing when it excels is washing very fast, with breville series it had so much pulp stuck in the micro holes of grinders/filters that was a pain to clean, and usually I would leave my wife to clean it due to losing my patience with it, with VRT350 is fast and easy, finish the job clean move on. To end my review I would recommend VRT350 for anyone that was using the breville series and used to its convienence and want something in middle of these two products.
Very Happy With This!

I have bought and returned 2 of the higher end Breville juicers and stuck with this one. It gets all the juice out of my fruits and greens perfectly and IMHO is quite a bit easier to clean than the Breville's. That may be because the parts to clean are smaller but the screen is MUCH easier to clean.

The Breville's sounded like a small plane taking off but we can have a conversation with the Omega running no problem.

The plastic parts keep their new look as well even after putting them through the dishwasher.

Another consideration is the warranty. 10 years for the Omega compared to 1 year with any Breville product.
