Had purchased the Fowler 52-562-775 last year and it broke. I opened it up to see inside and it was of very poor quality, so I ordered this one as a replacement. This is the exact same thing, just rebranded. Even the etching for the serial number is the same, and the box it came in. Only thing that is different is the name in the dial. Will it last? I hope so. But if it does break somehow, I have parts.
Excellent precision dial indicator.

I couldn't be more pleased with this item. You can easily spend significantly more for a name brand dial indicator and gain nothing more than what this dial indicator does.
Four Stars

The top collet type attachment becomes loose pretty easily.
Great price

Yes, the professional models are obviously higher quality, and higher priced ($$Hundreds). If I were a professional, I would buy one of those. This one was exactly what I need for occasional use. I can dial in a hole, check for roundness, straightness or square. It's nice to have one in my tool box. Recommended.
The face is large and easy to read

The fit and finish is problematic. I'm going to have to clean up the top dovetail with a file.
The face is large and easy to read, even with my poor eyesight.
The needle moves freely, or at least freely enough for a hobbyist like me. And its easy to set the zero.
I would have rated it 4 or 5 if the dovetail wasn't messed up. I know this is "cheap" for a test indicator, but it is still expensive enough to justify checking for that kind of thing before packaging it.
