These chairs are awesome! I ordered 2 and I am totally pleased

These chairs are awesome! I ordered 2 and I am totally pleased. Here are a few suggestions about assembly. Leigh Country has made the instructions as simple as can be for these chairs, BUT you really need two people and some patience. Don't think you will have them together in 20 minutes, because you won't.....especially if you try to do it alone! Maybe if you are a woodworking genius, you will get them together quicker than I didi. I did the first one alone and it took a long time! The second one, I had my neighbor come over and help me hold the pieces and it went together much more quickly. They are heavy, well made chairs and you will be thrilled you purchased them.
Finally, Chairs That Should Last More Than One Season

These are nice, heavy duty chairs that are also comfortable to sit in for extended periods without the need for a cushion. The color and finish are unusual in a good way and have added a nice pop to my porch. I will say, however, that putting them together on my own was a bit time consuming (I usually put things like this together quickly) due to their heft, some pieces being unwieldy and a few deep bolt recesses that are difficult to access, so I suggest both having a friend help with their construction and using a basic ratchet and combination wrench set (rather than relying solely on the included tools; I gave up on them after the first bolt) to make things easier. The instructions also take some interpretation, but are clear enough for those with a modest amount of mechanical skill. I would certainly recommend these to anyone seeking solid rocking chairs with a natural look and some light Shou Sugi Ban thrown in for effect.
Very frustrating assembly and instructions
Ben Saren✓ Verified PurchaseMay 2, 2017
Beautiful, rustic, solid wood chairs but buyer beware"¦ assembly is far from what I expected. I'm no slouch when it comes to assembling things, but that usually also assumes that the manufacturer designed a reasonable assembly experience or at least included minimally helpful instructions. Neither is the case here. I had to assemble two of these chairs and it took me nearly 3 hours. The holes where one must attach a simple nut to a simple bolt - many times - are barely large enough to fit two fingers, and needle nose players don't do the trick, so sparing you the cursing it was very frustrating. Sometimes it took me nearly 10 minutes to attach one nut not to a bolt. Just not well considered. But now that I finally got through assembling two of these chairs and tightened everything up there is no doubt they are sturdy, reasonably weather resistant (with care), and fairly comfortable. But if I had to do it all over again, I might consider another option. Assembly was that much of a headache. I was almost insulted by the instructions. I'd bet that the vast majority of people that assemble these chairs make the same mistakes.
Gorgeous and solid piece of quality furniture

This chair is gorgeous! Very solid and roomy. The finish is beautiful and they can stay outside all summer without being covered. At the end of the season I will revarnish them like the company recommends. I can see these chairs lasting a long time. Definitely worth the price.

Regarding assembly it can be a bit tricky but don't the the reviews scare you off. First, fully read the instructions. Every word on the page. There is some very small print in illogical places that explains important information like how the bolts should go. Next, lay put one side of the rocker following the diagram. Make sure to pay attention to what side you put the rocker piece on, it should go on the outside of the rocker. It's easy to mess up if you don't pay close attention. After the first side is assembled, it's easy sailing from there. We bought 2 of these chairs and assembly on the first took about an hour while the seconds took about half that. I assembled them and my husband fully tighten all the nuts and bolts to finish them up. You will definitely need a socket wrench, a rachet, and the allen wrench they give you to assemble and then tighten everything up on these chairs. And maybe some pliers, if your fingers won't fit into small spaces, to put the nut on the bolt.
It's worth the time and effort because at the end of the day you have a quaility piece of furniture. Review by a 47 year old woman.
Rockin' rockers!
KT in Texas✓ Verified PurchaseMay 28, 2016
We bought these rockers for our cabin at the lake. They are sturdy, comfortable (so far - but we may buy seat cushions) and arrived promptly. It wasn't a huge issue for my husband, but it might be good to know that the tags for the pieces for one of the two chairs had all fallen off, making it harder to identify which pieces were right and which were left. Thankfully, the first chair he assembled only had one tag missing. We think we made a good decision on this purchase!
