but I love this little thing

I normally don't leave reviews, but I love this little thing. I specifically bought the File cart so I could put school files in the bottom drawer and blank papers in the second drawer. I also bought the hanging file folders that Amazon suggested other customers bought with it. The dimensions of the entire cart in the details are exact and fit in the bottom drawer. At first when I tried to put the files in horizontally (so the tabs would be facing you as you pull the drawer out) it didn't fit. I thought that it was a improper working tower. However, it was just me, if you are in the same situation where you can't fit it, (as simple as it sounds) turn the files so they are vertical (tabs facing the sides of the tower). Overall neat product, bottom drawer does the job and top two drawers spacious enough to fit blank papers and notebooks in. No wheels with this one like the description said.
How to slide the drawers out and make the unit more stable.

You can get the drawers out all the way. Just slide the drawer all the way out and press a little bit at the end on both sides and slide out easily. This works for both the small or the big drawers. The storage unit is also very light in weight but you can put other stuff on top to make it more stable. See pictures.
Love This Storage

We do peritoneal dialysis at home and had to find a manageable way to store the mountain of supplies. This is a perfect solution to keeping everything organized and close at hand. I am pleased with my storage unit and would recommend this to anyone who is trying to get crafting or other materials neatly stored.

If you are looking to watch your budget and don't want to spend the money on the wooden drawer units this is a great option. It's not as wide as the wooden ones, but I actually like the size. I would say it's the perfect size. There are others that are wider than this one, so check the measurements and actually look at a tape measure so you know the size before your buying.
It's easy and simple to make custom drawer organizers fit to size. Using foam board (just $1 a sheet at Dollar Tree stores), walmart and craft stores also carry it for a bit more money a sheet. You can use duct tape or fabric to cover the foam board and make it pretty or masculine depending on who is using the drawer organizers. Make them to fit your needs depending on how it's going to be used.
This would be great for makeup, jewelry, legos, barbie clothes or accessories, tools, nuts, bolts, screws or all that other home stuff that is needed from time to time. I used duct tape for mine, using strips of the tape to cover the larger pieces of foam board. They are not seen in the photo.

When I say the picture doesn't do it justice, I do mean that. The pictures uploaded on amazon really do make it look plastic (yes i know it is) and cheap. It reminds me of the cheaper deeper drawer units that you can find at stores like walmart. The plastic itself on those (at walmart) are flimsy. These are not, and the sides of the drawers are more square and elegant looking for a plastic unit. I highly recommend this unit and I will be buying more or organize a more variety of items, rather than just my cosmetics.
To give it a more custom feel, remove the drawers and lightly sand the unit and prime using the spray version and spray paint in the color you prefer.
I have also seen where people add colored or printed paper to the front inside of the drawers so that is an option regardless if you leave the unit black or white or spray paint it a custom color. Or spray paint it a neutral color so it isn't so stark with white. If you leave it white or a neutral color you can also change out the papers for different seasons and holidays throughout the year. Or just to give it a new look when you tire of the old one for very little money. Keep the old ones so you can swap them back in from time to time as you slowly build up your collection or pass them on to a friend.
I did add a cell phone picture so you can kinda see what I am talking about it looking better in person instead of the amazon pictures. I hope that helps.
