Issue with tray
Amazon Customer✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 24, 2017
Love the way this chair looks, however the top portion/tray easily slides out when a child pushes against it. Which is odd for the tray is kinda difficult to work with to get on, you definitely need to use both hands to properly attach the tray. With a side to side click, click approach, not the best when your trying to wrangle a toddler in for a meal. If a child pushes on the tray it clicks out. My son has always been buckled in. I suggest if you buy this to ALWAYS use the buckle, for the tray will come off. In order to use this safely I would push the front of the tray against my dining room table during meal times so my son would not click off the tray and either lose his dinner or hurt himself. As stated the look is beautiful, but needs work on the ease of use for the tray component.
Not worth the cost. :(

I really wanted to love this chair, but several issues with it. The only reason I haven't returned it is that I am so slammed with other things that I don't have time to do so.

Issue 1: It does not go together well!! The slates for the seat are too wide for the chair. There is no way to tighten things enough to have the tray fit w/o scratching the sides up. And, you cannot tighten enough to hide the edges of the metal rods because the seat it too wide. All in all, it's VERY frustrating.
Issue 2: Just putting it together, due to the above, left scratches and gouges in the tray sides and on the edges of the seat slates - even though I was trying to be extremely careful. It's just bad sizing.
Issue 3: It's MUCH lighter in person and does not match other furniture (dining room set) that match the picture.

This product is TOO expensive for these issues. Honestly wish I wouldn't have bought it.
Great quality

This will be a highchair that lasts until grandkids. Very sturdy holds up to 250 lbs. kind of heavy and doesn't fold up so you need to have a spot for it to stay. The plastic tray comes off for easy cleaning. My daughter who is very tall for a 2 year old and up in the 90% plus for weight even scaled the chair climbing over the tray to get in and it held her upright without tipping at all.
Very happy with end product, though price and assembly a bit much...

We ultimately decided on this chair over the Stokke Tripp Trapp, and so far, so good. With our fist son we had a much less expensive Eddie Bauer high chair that was all wood and really enjoyed that product, unfortunately the newer version of said chair is mostly plastic and has other faults that has had us looking elsewhere.

VALUE
The price tag on this piece is quite lofty but it is what you'll have to pay if you are demanding a versatile, all-wood chair. We're happy we didn't settle with the $40 option we considered (which came very close to happening), but the money spent on this still stings- I don't like to admit to other parents what it cost. This chair was a better value than the offering from Tripp Trapp as the package we chose included the infant insert and tray.

ASSEMBLY
Pretty straight-forward until you get to the infant insert. If ordering the infant insert, read through those instructions before completing assembly of the "base" chair. If you complete the standard chair assembly you will have to remove bolts and readjust platforms to add the insert. We haven't had a chance to convert out of the infant orientation yet, though I can only imagine it will be easier than initial assembly

BUILD
Build quality is solid, though as others have commented, the finish does not appear that it will hold up well (ours was received with blemishes). Otherwise, this gave us the aesthetic we desired and is not too heavy.

CLEANING
I do not find the insert as tough to clean as others have remarked, and can only imagine cleaning to be easier after it is removed. We've yet to use the tray, so no comments on that.

SAFETY
This chair doesn't suffer the tip back issue that the Tripp Trapp endured, which was a plus. Although Stokke made safety stops available, I saw those as a weak point and a wear item that would not be a permanent fix. I have had no issues with the infant seat that were listed in other reviews. I noticed most of the reviews/comments concerning those issues were from 2012/13 do perhaps there were fixes implemented.
LOVE THIS HIGH CHAIR!

This highchair is amazing! I love everything about it! I have had it for 3+months, i was able to put my 6month old (at the time) in it, and he was right at the table with us! It cleans up fantastic, was easy to assemble (my husband did it), and looks great! i get lots of compliments on it.
I didn't want a huge highchair to take up my entire kitchen, so this is perfect, it looks like a piece of furniture, i tested my 4.5 year old on it and she loved the chair!
I read so reviews about the tray not being big enough, but for us this was perfect, they tray is fine. The plastic piece pops off for easy cleaning!
On a side note for normal tables this high chair fits perfect, on my kitchen table no problem. I do have a custom dining room table with bench seating and the table is higher than normal so my son sits bit lower but he sits on the end so it is fine, and, once he is out of the highchair it won't matter!
