Stoopid design

Really stupid design if you take it apart and you lose the gasket like I did twice good luck trying to put this thing back together I had to use a bunch of special Teflon tape and it still leaks a little and now it's going to leak and I have to shut off the water until I can order the right gaskets if I can find them the right o-rings just plain stupid that they don't have the technology to make something that holds water without an o-ring and they don't even give you an extra o-ring with the product just plain stupid
High quality no leaks at 100+ psi

I used this as a prefilter for a home made maple syrup making reverse osmosis system. It was inexpensive and the see through plastic was nice for checking filter status. I had zero leaks even after opening the housing multiple times. I also ran it at around 100-120 psi for long periods of time while running the system.
Not a bad product.

For whatever reason Amazon has this product's photo upside down making it look like a counter-top type filter housing "“ it isn't. Although one can probably use it that way but it's actually a standard wall mountable 10-Inch filter housing. Build quality is decent (to me) and does not have that plastic easy-to-break feeling, it's actually heavy. It doesn't come with any mounting or plumbing hardware so you will need to purchase your own (Supply Line, Fittings, Pentek Bracket 244047, Etc.). Bought this for personal use and installed it under our kitchen sink with a KX Matrikx 06-250-125-975 filter and have been happy with it so far. There are no leaks around the main filter housing especially the seam area however, the output port leaks if brass fittings are used. Whether you can or cannot use brass fittings on plastic ports, I don't know? But I've done it before and worked without leakages for years and years so I assume it would've work on this filter housing, too. I used Teflon tape liberally (wrapped at the right direction) and tightened the fitting practically all the way in but still couldn't get the leak to stop. I could've used pipe dope, sure, but I didn't have any at the time and as far as I knew it you didn't have to for these type of installations. I used plastic fittings instead and solved the leak problem. If it wasn't for the issue with brass fittings I would've given this product a higher score.
Nice piece of equipment. High quality

Rain soft replacement filter housing

I have an under sink rainsoft RO system that is about 20 years old. Two of the filter housings cracked while recently replacing the filters and membrane. I ordered these and after measuring they were a perfect fit. Ironically I once worked for Pentair.
