Why can't there be an 'egg carton' approach to packaging?
Saxon M.January 11, 2018
6x Laura Scudder peanut butter individually wrapped, well packaged.
Received 1/8/18 and each jar expires 8/21/18 (so that gives me over 8 months before expiration date). That was a plus!
Would have been good if the package was packed with biodegradable packaging. There was way too much plastic used to protect the jars. Despite my relief that the glass jars were wrapped thoroughly and properly to protect the glass from breaking, a more environmentally gentle way of packaging should be seriously considered and consistently used. Our consumer based economy doesn't have to mean harming the environment for our superficial wants and needs. Why can't there be an 'egg carton' approach to packaging?
The Bestest Peanut Butter on the Market and Nice Glass Jars Too
BHBDecember 17, 2017
The best peanut butter. No discussion. Peanuts, Salt, And No Unnecessary Garbage.

They come in nice glass jars too, a handy size. I think they make great cups / mugs and tbh the seal, even on re-use, is good enough for short-term leftovers that you can skip buying mason jars for similar stuff if you're broke. They'd probably make good Molotov cocktails too but I haven't tried that yet, it's illegal in California. Just sayin' though.

The glass is not as strong as mason jar glass though, definitely the "poor man's" option, and for long-term stuff you need that special seal and the pressure canning process, which these are *not* suitable for.

They would also be perfect, in terms of height / aperture ratio, for homemade candles.

My husband loves this peanut butter and was so upset when the grocery store he works at discontinued selling it. In my area, ordering here is the only way to get it.
Good price on my fave peanut butter
elizabethFebruary 5, 2017
This is my favorite no-sugar peanut butter and for a pack of 6 is a better price than at my local store. Expiration on these is July 20, 2017. (Purchased Feb 5). Looks like I will be making lots of peanut butter dog treats to get this used up!
What a mess!
John J.February 1, 2017
I understand that, when you buy natural peanut butter, there is oil separation. However, the actual peanuts were clumped together in large rock-hard pieces, much more so than any other time I've bought this kind of peanut butter. It was nearly impossible to stir the oil and peanuts together by hand, I actually had to dump the entire contents into a food processor to combine the oil and peanuts. This left me with an oil he mess to clean. I suspect these jars were stored in a warehouse that was either too hot or too cold causing the peanuts to clump together this way. Once mixed together the flavor and consistency was just fine, but it's definitely not worth the effort.
