I ordered this check writing program some time ago. I have never been big on writing reviews but this program certainly requires I make an exception. I found the program very easy to set up. Prior to ordering this program I had been using VersaCheck. After my first use of CheckBuilder Pro I was blown away. It was super easy to set up and get to writing my first check. Not only did the program exceed my expectations but Mr. Knapp does not have added "hooks" in his product. He has made a product that does exactly what you've paid for. Now here's what, in my opinion, puts CheckBuilder Pro head and shoulders above it's competition--Mr. Knapp's customer service is SECOND TO NONE. Anytime I've had a problem (all my fault) Mr. Knapp responded to my email within an hour or so. When I needed to reinstall the program because of purchasing a new computer I fired an email off to Mr. Knapp because my new 'puter doesn't have a CD-rom. He responded in a short time and fixed me up. Many, many companies could take a lesson from this man and his customer service philosophy. Thank you sir.

Thus far, the product was easy to install; and it has been easy to use. The price was reasonable, and it doesn't require any type of subscription. The company also seems to be readily available should there be an issue.

This program is such a great alternative to Quickbooks on the check writing front without the subscription headache. It does not do bookkeeping but it does a lot of the other things if you want to print checks and reconcile statements.
I like it and the customer service on this product is top notch as well. I am always able to get questions answered quickly.

I have been looking for an IOS-based check writing program since 2006.

I had been using Checksoft - a Windows-based product - on a laptop that I only turn on once or twice a year to make sure it is updated.

Checksoft is a pre-dinosaur product that only works on Windows (which is another dinosaur). I have contacted Checksoft on numerous occasions over the years and just recently called and sat on hold for 45 minutes to find out "no we do not have a Mac version - nor do we plan to have one". To say that I loath Windows-based programs is an understatement!

I knew that Versacheck would not work for my needs.

I decided to download the demo for CheckBuilderPro3 and was surprised with the intuitive program. It took just a few steps to complete a check, whereas Checksoft took much more time to complete the same process. The look of the templates and the ease of adjusting to your needs are superior to Checksoft.

I still had a few questions so I called the number on the website. My first surprise was that Mr. Knapp, the owner of the company, answered the phone. My second was his willingness to help someone who was just a potential customer at that point. My third surprise, after purchasing the product, was how he handled another of my inquiries. His willingness to make sure CheckBuilderPro met all my needs is unheard of in any industry. His dedication to customer service is "ABOVE AND BEYOND" anything I've experienced.

If you want a product for your Mac that is easy to use, exceeds expectations - not only in programming but more importantly in customer service - CheckBuilderPro3 is the check writing program for you.

I have only been using this for a dew days, but right off the bat, this software is wonderful, you can customize your checks in every possible way.
Make as many checks for as many accounts as you like. Print checks with lines to fill out or without, you can make checks to use with any accounting software because the checks can be created to any detail you need.
I use it to make checks for home and for my husband's business and for my work also, which is a church with multiple checking accounts.
I was a VersaCheck user for years, but when they upgraded the software it changed for the worse, so I have been looking for something else. With Versacheck after you buy their software it comes with a certain number of prints, meaning you can only print so many checks and then you have to buy a validation code again to print more, and if you don't use the amount of prints you purchased within a year, they expire. Ripping people off is more like it.
You can also use this for your check register, but I utilize different software for that, so I can not comment about how well it works. I can assure you though, if it's as good and as detailed as the check printing part, you will be happy. If you have any problems, rest assured Marty will walk you through it and help you until the problem is solved.
All is true and then some what they say about Marty the owner/creator of Check Builder, he answered every email within minutes, he's just a great guy and SO very helpful. I needed him for some minor detailing on a check, and we fixed it within minutes literally, through email, but I'm sure he would have called me if I wanted/needed him to. You just don't find this type of support with these large companies, and on top of that this program is so beyond theirs. So happy Marty took the time to make this program, I told him he needs to make a windows version for those not able to have Macs. I also ordered checks from their sister company, they have anything and everything you need for blank check supplies, nice colors to choose from, and very reasonably priced compared to checks ordered from the bank or elsewhere. I am just beyond pleased with Marty and this software and feel confident if any issues come up that he will be right there to solve them. Thank you Martin Knapp for not only making a great check writing software program but for being such an honest and helpful businessman on top of that. Hard to find these days. Very grateful.
