Did not work. Ignition would not light the gas. Returned for refund.
Leaking valve
ScottAugust 24, 2013
Bought this burner and brought to Singapore, but didn't test first. Big mistake. The filling port (valve) leaks gas. So a bit of quality concern and possibly dangerous, if I had not noticed. Other reviews have been good so mine might have just been a bad one, but you would think a company as large as Sterno would test ALL gas products to ensure no leaks. And I can't return due my location. So 1 star for Quality checks and most of all Safety.
Great for small coffeemakers
Joey LAugust 17, 2013
This was a replacement heater for a Hario Syphon coffemaker. The unit that came with it stuttered, would not light consistently and did not fill easily with butane. This unit was not made for this purpose. I think it was for replacing cans of sterno under food warmers. Another reviewer had used it for this purpose and he was right, it works fine, you just have to remove the plastic base it sits on.

It fires up first time every time. It is hotter than the stock unit and boils the water more quickly. It is a little noisy at full blast, kind of like a small propane torch. I have not tried it, but I bet it could cook a small meal in a small pan. Appears to have good build quality, with a solid feel to the ignition and intensity dial.
Consistent
BennyJune 24, 2013
The flame on this is quiet strong, and i haven't tried cooking with it though. Only concern with this burner is that it isn't very consistent with the flame level. A small tweek or tap would have caused the flame to increase or decrease significantly.
Overall, it gets the job done when making my morning coffee.
