The head on my refurbished Dyson that I have had for over 10 years quit spinning. When I hit the reset, it would only last for a few seconds then needed resetting again. I tried buying parts to rebuild it but kept getting in the wrong part. I gave up and just bought the new head. What had I even been waiting for??? Should have bought a new head a long time ago. It just clips on, and I was back in business. Unbelievable how quiet this new head is. Like, I had to check to see if the brush was spinning - it was. It's like I have a new vacuum.

I have the red DC25 upright vacuum. After 10+ years, the cleaner head finally went out. The spin brush would stop and it would make a high pitched screech. I called Dyson and they said I needed to take it to a repair shop. I googled the problem and came to the conclusion it was almost certainly the cleaner head motor, as it has its own. After installation, my vacuum was so quiet and operated so smoothly I assumed it was not working at all. It was like playing with a toy vacuum, except NOT. It absolutely worked. It is a bit to pay in my opinion,however I love my Dyson and it saved me from tossing it and/or spending much more on parts and service from Dyson repair.

I bought this head to refurbish my 12 year old DC24 Blueprint. It doesn't match the white Blueprint version, but it is compatible. My original head was damaged and the roller would just rattle in place. It took me about 90 seconds to switch the heads out. Just pop off the "C" clamp, unplug the old head, then reverse the process.
For people who have owned the older DC24 vacuums, there is no "reset" button on the side of the roller for this head, but you can still use the roller start/stop button. Usually, if the roller stops after vacuuming a thick rug or sucking up the bottom of my curtains, just snapping the vacuum back into the upright position and pressing the pedal switch is enough to restart the roller.
For people who have owned the older DC24 vacuums, there is no "reset" button on the side of the roller for this head, but you can still use the roller start/stop button.
