Perfect as a mobile pantry
April8114•August 29, 2017
Worth the money! I bought one of these to use as a pantry to keep my items of food and kitchen equipment from invading the household while living with my daughter and her family, but still have it close by while preparing meals. Although it was filled to capacity, it rolled easily - the casters are amazing! I bought some cupboard organizers that hung from the shelves to increase shelf space for smaller items. The stainless is not a super heavy gauge, but it is durable and stayed shiney, even though my three wee grandkids dished out lots of fingerprints (easily wipes off), lots of magnetic toys (they stick great!), and used the side of the cabinet for decal art and their magnets. The door locks but, as others have pointed out, it's not terribly difficult to break into if you're a motivated thief. But it does keep nosey twin toddlers and a 3 year old out of nana's things. Although it weighs almost 150 pounds, the awesome (and I do mean awesome!) casters allowed me to roll this unit out to my truck across some gravel, tip it in the bed, and haul to my new home with no problems.
As others have also pointed out, some parts may arrive dented. Mine arrived with a shipping "ding" in the cardboard that punctured enough that it marred one of the side panels. No biggie. The amount of packaging from the manufacturer ensured that the product would arrive as intact as possible; beyond that, it's all up to the handling while in transit. As a side note, when the doors are opened all the way and pressed against the top corners where the screws protrude, it WILL dent the door. I found that out when I moved it. Again, no biggie, but I was kinda bummed. Being a former union sheet metal worker, I appreciate the beauty of metal and good construction and this cabinet has both. I now have my eyes on the Seville work bench with the metal top to use as a kitchen island. For me, it's more about function over form, so although these are intended for the garage, I'd rather put them to use in my hard-working kitchen!

Good Do-It-Yourself Project for Non Do-It-Yourselfers!

Unlike some of the other reviewers, my package arrived undamaged. Unfortunately, no one was at home when this was delivered so the hardest part is getting the 120+ pound box in the house. Make sure you have a lot of space and around 4 hours os assembly time. But the maker has done an excellent job with marking all the pieces and explaining the assembly. Pay attention to the diagrams when inserting screws. There's a reason why some of the screw holes are not used until later.
The instructions advised this was a two person job but I had no problems doing it by myself. Hanging the front doors is the trickiest part.
An excellent product!

Love the looks, stainless, powder coat, wheels. I got four of these

All of these cabinet things from Seville are sheet metal and are a lot like an erector set. I bought a bunch of this because they look great in the garage are VERY easy to assemble after the first one. They even use the same numbers for items in all their items (i.e., screw number 41 is the same in all of them). By the time I was done, I could put them all together without the directions and I had TENNIS ELBOW. The only negative is that often there will be some minor ding in the metal. Ironically, never in the stainless parts. I've only had one item that I could not put together because the damage was too bad. Anyway, liked them enough to get two tool cabinets, three wall lockers, four cabinets and the tops, and a small table. May even get more.
Good cabinet for my needs. A good buy.

The box arrived in great shape but when I opened the box, two side panels and one of the doors were dented. Seville replaced them immediately and there customer service was great.
There are too flaws in the product. The first being that you can break into the cabinet by unscrewing the panels in the back and because the unit is not welded by screwed together it has a tendency to loose its squared structure whenever you move it. Consequently the doors can go out of alignment and be difficult to open .
Overall though, it provides me with good enough security, it looks great does meets my needs. This is not an industrial grade cabinet; otherwise it would be too heaving and not mobile so I give it a good rating because it is a fair compromise between security and aesthetics and price and mobility.

Depends what you want from it.

How much you like this unit will depend drastically on your expectations. I bought mine for the garage, so appearances mattered, but not that much.
Functionally the unit is quite nice. It's packed pretty well, every single piece is clearly labeled, the assembly instructions are impeccable, and they even include a magnetic screw driver. Each individual component is fairly light (I think all of them are under 10 lbs), so pretty much anyone should be able to handle putting this together. There's an awkward step where you have to stand the unit up, but it only has about 30lbs (?) assembled at that point so it's pretty easy. The manufacturing is great, every single screw (and there are a lot of them) lines up with the intended holes. The panels are steel, they feel strong enough to hold up to a typical cabinet-full load. I haven't finished moving all the paint cans into it. My impression is the shelves will groan a bit under 10 cans or so, but they have a pretty decent brace down the middle so they shouldn't sag. The corner braces and bumpers are beefy and should hold up.
Aesthetically, the color doesn't quite match what you see in the pictures. To my eyes it's a bit more taupe than what appears to be a true gray in the seller's images. If you care, you'll notice. Otherwise, it's fine. As others have mentioned, some of the shipments arrive damaged. However, I don't think this is a shipping issue. My box arrived in great shape, yet, there were several dings and dents in various components. I don't personally care for the garage, but again, if you care about the little details, it's going to be a deal-breaker. There were about 3-4 smaller dings (size of a nickel maybe) and 3-4 larger ones. The larger ones were big enough that the colored coating had cracked and chipped. One of them is in the center-front of the top panel, which is a bummer. The rest are around the back vertical edges, and there's a spot inside that's also cracked. I'm convinced this is a handling problem between manufacturing and packaging; someone's tossing these panels from one spot to the next maybe?
To recap: functionally very good product, especially for the cost. Aesthetically you should not expect it to be perfect.
