A necessary ingredient for a lot of Mediterranean food and difficult to impossible to find at grocery stores on the West Coast, at least. You can make your own by boiling down pomegranate juice, but it's lengthy and messy. If you need this stuff, buy it.

This is really great with broiled salmon or chicken. I recommend putting on only for the last 5 minutes. High fruity flavor, a little sweetness and a little acid. Good flavor balance. It will be a staple.

Got this yesterday and used it in an impromptu sausage, sweet potato, black bean and onion casserole. It added a nice sweet and slightly sour taste to it - I really liked it. Got it for dishes in Ottolenghi's Plenty cookbook, but I can see I'll be using it for lots of other things.

First time I've ever used this and it is very tart. It's not bad at all, but a lot more tart than I thought it would be. I usually try it with lamb or vodka based drinks and it's been good for both. I'll be trying to find more things to use this in.
