Great Marker for First Timers

The A-5 is a really great gun. Never had any issues with the gun mechanically. The air cyclone feeder works geat, never had a jam.

Can also upgrade the trigger to Response Trigger or EGrip. (Who needs to use 2 fingers when you can hold down the trigger with 1 😉)

Only bad thing about the gun is the barrel but after upgrading it, it'll shoot as good as the $500+ ones.

The photo has the Empire Apex 2 Barrel and A5 Car stock (Adjustable)

Hopper isn't secured very well otherwise great gun
That gets a little annoying, which is why I took off the star

All the stuff you hear about it cutting out at 850 psi is wrong, even with the response trigger. I shot mine to 500, with the cyclone cutting out at 650 ish. That gets a little annoying, which is why I took off the star. It is a bit of a gas hog, but that's partly because you're throwing so much paint down range. I shot 200 3 year old paintballs through it without a break, and they were as accurate as they could be at that age.
is only $175 so you have money to upgrade it with a mechanical trigger then its as good as the Phantom X-7 which is $400

After hours of searching review for hundreds of guns I fell on the Tippmann A-5. Here's why:

Pros:
-Price, is only $175 so you have money to upgrade it with a mechanical trigger then its as good as the Phantom X-7 which is $400.
-Speed, I can compete against kids who have $400 - $1,000 guns with a mechanical response trigger.
-Cleaning, The A-5 doesn't have a whole lot of parts compared to other paintball guns so its easy to fix. I can take it apart, clean, reassemble in (+/-)30min.
-Customization, there are 100's of youtube videos showing you how you can integrate 89 parts or other paintball parts.

Cons.
-Stock barrel, when you first get the gun the stock barrel is worthless. It'll make your gun shoot like s***. Spend $120 on a 2 piece Freak barrel with interchangeable inserts. WHY? the Flat Line barrel you can only shoot your gun at 160psi before balls start breaking in the barrel. The Apex barrel will make your balls loop through the air. The fitted inserts will push the ball through the barrel evenly giving it a stabilized flight (this will very with the quality of paint)
-Stock trigger, the stock trigger feels loose
-No under rail. I wish it came with an under rail so I didn't have to use the for grip.
The A5 was recommended as being easy to customize

I had a special purpose in mind for this gun. The A5 was recommended as being easy to customize. It is true. It works great, shoots straight and is easy to work on. I would recommend it.
