Impressive knife for the money
Sandy LewisApril 14, 2017
This review is actually from my husband as the knife was purchased by me for him for his birthday. He is the pickiest person when it comes to knives he has 3 Emerson, 4 bench made, bokker... you get the picture. He carries high quality knives everyday in his pocket. I was very hesitant to order this due to price point and where it is made. He will not even look at Chinese made knives. But, I read the reviews, looked at the spyderco website and made the decision to go with this one. I'm so happy because he absolutely loved it. According to him it does not look or feel like a Chinese made knife. He says for price point has the appearance of a high end knife. He said a nice feature is the clip can be mounted on either end left or right. He is 6'6 has big hands and fits very well. The linear lock is solid and stable. Extremely sharp out of the box so cautiously handle it! He says it actually would better fit larger hands so bigger guys this one is for you. Highly recommend
Perfect niche filled.

I'm not a big fan of knives with less than 3 inch blades and often carry Cold Steel 5.5 inchers like the Espada and Voyager XL. I also own an Endura 4, but the Resilience has found itself in my pocket more than others lately because it's light, but also has a 4 inch blade that is usable for EDC but also good as a defensive blade. The knife opens great with either the thumb or flick of the middle finger. I'm very pleased with this knife.
Good buy

If you have big hands this is the knife for you. I'm 6'4 and love it. I've always been and still am a Kershaw man but I haven't found anything big enough by them that I like. This thing is sharp, smooth, and easy to hold. Very light for its size but not cheap feeling, pocket clip is just right and 4 position. Only reason I give it 4 and not 5 is there is a Lil edge on the blade hole, but not where you open it so not an issue. Second is the blade isn't centered, again doesn't affect function but if Kershaw can do it with a $20 knife then spyrdco should be able to do it with a $50 knife. Overall this has been my primary edc and will be for some time.
Large!!
Mike MJuly 15, 2016
This knife is large however, it fits my right rear pocket just right. I have been carrying the Tenacious for a while. I love the feel of the G-10 handle on both. The knife is well worth the price and if you like Spyderco you will like this big ole knife. I like the weight and balance of this knife. I have no problem one handing this knife very quickly out of my back pocket, in case someone needs a box opened or something cut really fast. As far as a self defense situation it is very substantial and refer to to length of the blade!!
Mine came with the clip mounted so that the point of the knife is pointed down when clipped in my pocket which is the way I like it. All of that can be changed without changing the integrity of the knife if you don't like that set up. Now keep in mind I am by no means a knife expert. I really know very little about the types of steel other than what I read on the internet. I just know that once you figure out how to care for a Spyderco they will serve you well. This knife is large enough to do some minor chores around camp that I would normally use something larger than the Tenacious but a KBAR would work better and if it's in my back pocket that's even better. I'm going to put a 20 degree edge on it and see how it works. So far, if you are on the fence, you won't spend your money any better if you are looking a bigger than normal folder.
Use with extreme caution! the blade is very sharp.

The Spyderco Resilience is a very nice knife if only the manufacturer pay much attention on the quality of each product.
Out from the box the knife cut/slice paper very well, I was very impressed but after closer look this what I found out.
1. The Blade was not aligned properly. see picture.
2. The clip was not properly clean or de burred properly. see picture.
3. The tank where the walker liner suppose to lock was leaning on the side, not much but I can see it. First I though it was my eyes but no. see picture.
4. The knife is suppose to be "Full flat-ground blade" that's what on the description but it's not. Mine come with uneven not flat. I more likely have more metal on the tip toward the belly but it get thinner pass it and toward the handle. I could feel the drop like puddle or let say crater. Also on the spyder sign side, you can see the brush line marking but not on the other side..wierd huh? Also I think I need to re profile the blade, even do it is very sharp the edge or line on bevel is weird.
Ok. Maybe it's just me....for safety reason I would right away change the clip location specially you're a right handed, see if you put the blade on your right front pocket... the blade opening direction is where??? quess what, ya your right. see I try to play the locking mechanism of the blade and it's not firm.. but just by holding the back side of the blade and shake it up and down the blade will open half way...this the danger and caution i'm concerned...when this happen and I hope not the blade is pointing directly to your manhood or something else...and this is very sharp blade. well, Just me.
Now do you think I will keep the blade...thinking of returning it will cost me more plus time to drop it off....ya i'll keep it.
I really like the blade, only I got a not so good made. ya it made in china but spyderco should have a high quality standard through out there entire company. Well for $ 40+ knife...it's OK. Hope my observation help others decision to buy the blade. I will still keep my SCHRADE as EDC I have it for about 6 to 8 yrs. Sure for camping the spyderco will be handy. Just to add my last observations.... the build of the blade is solid..no racking except those that I already said.
Update: 1/25/19.
I did tighten the screw on the pivot and now the blade does not open prematurely. Also the rest of all the screw. So far I'm happy with my purchased. The blade hold sharpness. I add one more star because of this new observation.
