BEWARE: Only sold in 1 set. Why??

The kit is good and all but when I ordered I only added 1. Why have a kit for only 1 side?
It's totally my fault that I didn't look but still.
Essentially this is not a $30 dollar product but a $60 one. Just be aware of that.

We didn't want to screw into the banister and this kit made that possible! I did have to add some shims to make the spacing better for the Little Llama gate we purchased as the banister we have is a little more ornate than your plain square posts. As others have mentioned, the screws were a little tight as it looks like they came from two different vendors or batches. It all came together rather nicely. The two things I wish it had come with, Shims, and the instructions in the box. We tracked the instructions down but it would have been handy to have right there instead of on my phone. Definitely the solution to an issue, and WAY nicer than the zip-tie options floating around.

The instructions are not easy to understand. It is not clear which is the clamp front and clamp back. (The clamp front is the one that the little wooden block goes into). Also not clear is that the long bolt with the phillips head goes into the clamp front and screws into the clamp back. The piece of 1" x 2" wood that is included in this kit drills into the outside of the clamps. The piece of wood may need to be trimmed to fit your bannister height.
I was not able to use the included piece of wood because my baby gate (Retract-A-Gate) has wider mounts than 2", so I will need to go to the hardware store to see if I can find a 1"x4".
If the instructions were re-written, or if there was a video on how to attach this mount, and if the piece of wood that comes with it was a little wider, I'd give this product 5 stars.

These worked great for my situation. Although I felt it needed an extra screw through each main plastic harness, this really did the job well. Spray painted the white harnesses oil rubbed bronze to match my railings and gate. Then put a coat of stain and polyurethane on the wood to match my hardwood floors and banister. This is the best alternative out there. Not the cheapest but well worth the money to save my very expensive railing investment and keep my daughter safe. I also purchased the Amazon warehouse opened box product to save some money and they were in perfect shape.
Easy to setup and works great for the intended purpose.

Great solution for mounting a baby gate without drilling into the banister. Easy to put together and mount a baby gate to. Only thing I would have liked were some options to have the wood piece painted or stained when ordering. I would have paid more for that option as it would have saved me some time. Did a quick stain on the wood before assembling everything so it would kind of match the banisters.
