We needed to use one immediately and it worked fine. The second candle was not needed until mid-February
DB•February 12, 2017
I purchased two of these as replacement candles in early December. We needed to use one immediately and it worked fine. The second candle was not needed until mid-February, but when opened did not work at all. By that time the Amazon return window had closed. I would give 4 or 5 stars to the working candle, but zero stars to the defective one. If you order these, try them all out immediately so that any defective ones can be returned and replaced. As others have commented, if you are planning to mix these in with other candles, be aware that these bulbs have a very white light.
Not bright enough.

I ordered the black base candles to light my windows at Christmas, and they are pretty, however, they are not bright enough. You can barely see the light from the street. Everything else about the candle is great. Has a light sensor, and comes on at dusk, then turns off at dawn - however, please note different windows will come on at different times based on light exposure. The color of the light is nice, it's a soft white, it flickers. Base fits well on small window sills. Requires C batteries, but it lasts throughout the Christmas season (after Thanksgiving to just after New Year's). If you are not looking for a bright light from each candle, I would recommend these.
Looks nice when it is working

Looks nice when it is working. However, I have had to change the batteries about three times since I bought it. No I did not buy cheap batteries. I also don't have them on constantly. They are just on through the night hours. I think I would go with something that you can actually set a timer on it to avoid the batteries from draining so quickly. They do look nice in my window though.
Very happy

Dweg's review convinced me, so I bought five of these along with enough EBL 5000mAh Ni-MH Rechargeable C batteries to run them. The batteries only lasted about two weeks, but once I caught on, I started rotating them through our charger shortly before before they died. This was still a lot less hassle than turning a bunch of lights on and off every day or arranging extension cords and outlets and timers for all of them.
I love that they stay on all night. They did tend to stay on until it was fully daylight outside, but went off eventually even in our more shaded windows. As others have mentioned, the bulbs are not super bright, but they were still clearly visible and pretty from the street.
I only used them for one season, but they feel reasonably well made. The cord-free convenience, quality, and sensors make these well worth the minor battery hassle for me. I hope to get many more years out of them!

Very nice and fast shipping with Amazon prime. Bought two of these to put in my upstairs windows and they look great from the street. Everything is plastic but still looks well made. The light is very bright concidering they are not plug-ins, just two C size batteries in each. Nice touch in my windows for Christmas time.
Update:
Bought two of these and have had them for less than a week and one dosnt work in the "flickering" setting already.
