Perfect product for my problem. I had my right hip replaced and needed to use a walker during the first weeks after surgery. After the first 3 or 4 days of navigating around my home, my hands began to feel sore every time I grasped the walkers hard plastic hand handles. I realized it was going to get worse unless I used padding. I found this product on Amazon and was delighted when I opened the box. The padded grips come with 2 levels of padding - firm and medium. I used the firm. The product is well made and fitted securely around the walker's handles. My hands no longer hurt. Also callouses stopped forming on the pads of my hands (from the constant gripping the hard platstic walker handles) and with a little bit of hand cream are now soft again. Had I not purchased these padded grips, not only would I have sore hands, they would be calloused and hard. I am very happy with my Crutcheze padded grips.

Very nice handgrips that fold right around and over the factory issued hard handgrips that come with standard walkers. We purchased this for our relative that we are caring for post operatively after she was complaining that her hand bones were getting so sore from the standard handgrips on her walker. She even resorted to wearing leather gloves while using her walker to help alleviate her hand pain. These grips have taken care of that, she no longer reaches for her leather winter gloves when ambulating with her walker, so these have solved a big problem for her. They are soft and squishy to the touch and offer adequate cushioning. These appear to be washable, at least hand washable, if not in the washing machine. We opted to purchase her the black color thinking that hand oils and stains would not be as noticeable. These did arrive with 2 extra pads to add to the pad already in the grip or to use as a replacement once the original foam cushioning inside the grip would wear out. We added the extra foam to her grips since she was getting such pain in her hands. To add, take out or replace the foam, just reach into the grip and unfold the 1" flap and you can easily slide foam in and out then. Fold the 1" tab back over the foam and you are all set. Then fold these grips right around the factory installed handgrips, press the hook and loop take together and you're all set. Easy peasy solution to worn out grips or to further cushion the hard, firm factory grips. Thank you again, Amazon Prime for another great solution!

Despite assurances to the contrary these pads do slip and slide in use. The slide forward and back and slip side to side. Enough so to make me uneasy using them. Fortunately I found the problem and a solution but not without spending more money. The problem is that they are about a full inch too loose for my standard size walker grips. As delivered the Velcro fasteners cannot be adjusted tightly enough to prevent slippage. The solution was to place a second one inch wide adhesive strip of Velcro next to the existing strip. Maybe the manufacturer should consider making this adjustment available on their product.

So I went from months upon months of being non-weight baring on my foot to being partial weight baring and having to use a walker. I have joint damage in my hands that made this process extremely painful to use the walker. I came across these pads and based on the reviews decided to give them a try. They really helped. The actually came with a thinner pad if the ones that were in the wraps were too thick but I really needed the thicker padding. It was still painful because of my joints but not nearly as bad as before the padding. I loved that there were different colors and went with the purple since the small bag on my walker was also purple. I would really recommend these for anyone who's hands ache.

These hand grip covers are great! I have had mine for two years. The cushioning has become slightly flattened but they are still a help for the pressure of me leaning on the hand grips. I have never had them slip or move accidentally. All you need to do is put them on tightly by pulling one side over the other and sealing the velcro. I like them being fabric and not fleece as I know that fleece would make my hands hot and sweaty. This fabric has never bothered my hands and I put a lot of pressure on them because I must lean my weight on the walker in order to walk. They come with two pieces of foam for each grip. One is thinner and you can use the thin piece, the thicker piece, or both at once. I think this is a great feature to give you a choice of whatever is comfortable for you.
I would definitely recommend these hand grip covers for anyone leaning on a walker. The only downside is the high price, but after using them for 2 years I would purchase them again if need be.
