I got the order and the seeds looked nice and fresh

I was nervous ordering this because I couldn't see the quality of the seeds, since usually there's moths in them when I buy seeds at the the local pet stores. I got the order and the seeds looked nice and fresh, no sign of any bugs. I will definitely be ordering this again once I run out of seeds.
Really tiny, even for millet - back yard birds mostly ignore it

This is my 2nd bag from Cole's. The first was fine, but this last bag has really tiny millet seed - seemingly half the size of those in my original bag. Not sure whether size has anything to do with it, but the birds pretty much ignore this, even the house sparrows.

I live in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. This is my third bag of white millet in 20 months. The painted buntings and baby cardinals love it. We put the white millet in a bird feeder that only small birds can enter. It's called Droll Yankee SDC Green Wild Bird Feeder with Domed Cage. This feeder is well made. We hung it from this really sturdy pole mounted to the side of our screen patio: Strongest Extended Reach 60" Single Hook Swinging Hanger Bird Feeder made by SwingArm USA. All of these items are available on Amazon. They aren't cheap but they are quality items. If you like painted buntings you will probably have good luck with this setup.
The big birds such as blue jays get frustrated when they can't get into this feeder. Instead they go to our big bird feeder containing black oil sunflower seeds. Large cardinals, mourning doves and blackbirds hit the big feeder.

Perfect for ground feeders. I've got a lively and lovely population of doves, many different types of sparrows, and other small birds who frequent my yard. I scatter this millet on the ground and we have an instant busy bistro. Adding a dash of meal worms makes the birds act as if they are at a 5 star Michelin restaurant.

I have finches and sparrows at my hanging tray feeders, I love this all millet seed, it saves so much waste. Every day I just blow off the empty hulls and top with more millet and a small scoop of sunflower and Nyjer seeds for a treat. For the few doves that come I put out one of the cheaper seed blends (which contains milo and corn) in a standing feeder. There's still stuff that ends up on the ground, the towhees and squirrels eat most of that, but I admit I do periodically have to sweep it all off the porch onto the ground, and start over again.
