Fabulous case

What a beautiful display case. I have a ship that was my parents that they got back in the 60's. The details are amazing. Well it was never in a display case therefore the ropes got brittle and it got very dusty. Canvas sails got dried out.
Fortunately I came across a model ship restorer ( that is a story also...) who just LOVED to do this . It is a hobby for him. and he is a professional at it , in my opinion.
So as it goes he restored my ship and I took the kitty ( that was our deal). I put it back where I originally had it on a shelf and it got lost among the clutter. It was then we decided to invest in a case....and what a wonderful idea it turned out to be. At 1st we thought the case was too big but as soon as we place it in and covered it it became the focal point of the room.
Price was reasonable. Size was perfect and quality excellent. The bowing gave the ship more space for the width of the sails. It was packed in wood and very protected. Kudos to the packing department.

It came in a massive wooden shipping crate. Quite the operation to unpack. Once I did, I found a few minor flaws on the item and the plexiglas is rather thin but it looks pretty and gets the job done at a decent price. Be aware that the 12 inch depth is based on the bowed-out midsection; the bottom of the base is much more narrow, about 10 inches or so.
