Wonderful learning tool!
The plastic pieces are well constructed, and the fabric bones seem to be sewn well. The bones are small, though they are perfect for small hands. Plastic textures include bumpy, smooth, rough, spiky, and grooved. The fabric textures include fluffy, woven, silky, furry, and ridged. The dog is very small, only slightly larger than the bones.
The black, plastic doorway (four flaps) fold permanently inward after continued use. When all the pieces are in the doghouse, they can be slightly hard to retrieve, as the doghouse is quite full.
The toy comes with a booklet with several activity ideas.

There are so many activities you can do with this with your child. I bought this for my ASD 2 years old son to get him to tolerate different textures. I also use it to teach him colors, matching, spot the difference, & sorting.

My 2 yr old son loves running around with the "Puppy Bones" and playing mini games with them. Learning Resources sends a guide with a few mini games for the kids to use as play based learning. The bones come in pairs of all different colors, textures, and material. We have our son match the colors and then tell us what the bones feel like. He loves these games and has provided him with learning through games. This game keeps his attention as well. The house is durable except for the black flaps that have started coming off, however this could be expected a year in.

I bought this for my 8 month old son who puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. The only problem is he has 8 teeth so he can chew up something like a board book in 30 seconds! These dog bones are PERFECT! They are a little small like other reviewers have said so I supervise him very closely when he's chewing on them. As much as my baby and I LOVE the dog bones, it's strange that the stuffed dog is basically the same size. And then the dog house is huge!! I basically set the dog house aside and put the dog and bones in a ziploc bag. All that to say- I would still recommend it for little teethers!
