My new favorite

Ballistol is my new favorite for cleaning and lubricating my shotguns. Smells different than the several different products I have used but not as harsh and the statement that it is eco-friendly, skin safe and no carcinogens is important too. I liked it so much on the firearms that I now use it instead of other products. I like the aerosol but also use the large can to refill small dropper-style bottles when only a drop or two is needed.
works well

I bought this to compare how well it cleans over CLP. It works really well. It probably cleaned my BCG better than hoppe's elite/ hoppe's 9; and comparable to CLP but it's messy.
I had to put an extra towel on my work space because it would seep through all the way through my gun cleaning mat and onto my table. annoying!
it works well for lube too but even with the applicator it's hard to limit amounts. But it works well...

Like it, but not better than elbow grease.

Not sure what the fuss is over this product, but a lot of people, including professionals in the firearms industry, love it. Seems to work OK for cleaning; not gummy. I used it to help take some brass marring off a blued rifle barrel and it was helpful, although it was hard to tell how much elbow grease really finished the job. For the price it seems a good value. It does have a smell that is hard to describe; I find it mildly offensive, but the good news it says no carcinogens are in the product. I am new to this product and clearly, I will give it a chance to win me over.
Give it a shot, you'll like it

AR-15, Glock, and 1911 all get cleaned and lubricated with ballistol. 8.99$ for the 6 oz will last a long time. Doesn't gum up or harden, I don't like the smell but I don't hate it, it reminds me that I'm about to have a good time and shoot. The one time I preferred to use hoppes #9 was to clean the firing pin channel of my 1911. I'm sure ballistol would have worked fine but i bought the hoppes before the ballistol so I have to at least use it right? The hoppes smelled like crazy and got me a little noxious in my room due to the kerosene. Will stick with ballistol for as long as I shoot guns.
Works like it should.

So far so good. I have a wide assortment of CLP's for my firearms and I recently decided to purchase a Glock and a lot of people recommended this product for it. It seems to work great, cleans it fine and like any other CLP it works pretty well as a lube. I still use solvents to clean the bore and barrel but the amount of carbon this stuff pulls off everything else makes it seem like it works well as a solvent as well. This is a very popular CLP overseas and has been around for a long time but I had never seen it in the local stores here so I am glad I picked it up.
