Good Upgrade to Reduce Garage Door Noise and Reduce Motor Work
Anthony✓ Verified Purchase•January 5, 2018
I exchange these for units that came with the house and were ~1yr old. We use the garage door A LOT and the old ones had some use, I always kept them lubricated 3-4 times a year. I researched and found lots of people including professional door installers recommended these. I had some time over the holidays so I ordred a set of 10 and changed the main door. I will say that I added lift motor bushings at the same time (link below) so I cannot say these 100% improved the noise reduction. But I can say they are easy to install and inexpensive so worth it to me. The door is VERY much quiter now with these and the addition of motor bushings.

Great Noise Reducer

These solved a problem with my garage doors making noise and not rolling easily around the bend in the track. The OEM rollers that came with my garage door were all metal and worn out. These are an inexpensive solution. A local garage door repair company charges $100 to replace the 10 rollers on each garage door so you can save by doing this yourself. Installation was easy, and there are YouTube videos that show you how to change garage door rollers, although most show you bending the track to remove. I found it simpler to remove the sheet metal screws that attach the brackets to my door. Before releasing the bottom brackets that are under cable spring tension, you must secure the cable so the spring won't rewind. I used a C-clamp to clamp the cable to the track.
Very good product and they do significantly reduce roller noise

Very good product but BE CAREFUL. If you don't know how a garage door works don't try to install. A closed garage door has tremendous tension on the spring and associated cables and if you remove the bottom brackets with the door closed the bracket will shoot upward like a bullet. Can cause very serious injury and the best way to install the bottom rollers is to open the door completely before you unbolt the bracket. Please use good sense and be careful. The seller should include a warning about the bottom brackets.
Even quieter than before

My dad told me to buy this for our garage but I was really hesitant because at the time I didn't think the garage could get any quieter. Our doors are greased up so its super quiet compared to neighbors which you can hear from my house. Amazon same day delivered these things install took about 20 minutes for both garage doors and wow what a difference. It somehow got quieter than before which makes no sense to me but these are the real deal, I only wish my neighbors would buy these now.
WOW ! what a difference !

Like many others here, these replaced steel wheels and WHAT A DIFFERENCE they make. I have an insulated door that is a bit heavier than a standard aluminum door and the the installer used the the longer shaft rollers. He DID have ONE of this style. I believe the installers use the steel rollers as the are noise and clearly need periodic maintenance to keep them "somewhat quiet" so you can call them back if you are not handy..
The difference in the noise level from the OEM's is NIGHT AND DAY. For what these cost and what it takes to replace, I could care less if they don't last as long as steel rollers.
The Seller was prompt and the quality of the product great.
If you have a noisy door and need the longer shafts, this is a BARGAIN !
