It works well but I almost think it could be a bit heavier, maybe weighted beans in the bottom or something just to "ground" it and stabilize it more. It seems a bit too light so it doesn't stay put well, especially w/a bigger/heavier book. But overall it works, I like the cinch bar to hold the book in place.

The only small issue that I have is that it is a little too narrow across the base to be really well supported on the knees, especially the way that I lounge in the chair. It's great if I sit with my legs together, but slouched it would be nicer if it was a few more inches across its base. I didn't think that the plastic page holder would work, but it does hold the pages down even on my 6 inch thick books. I certainly recommend this for avid readers

I read books regularly and I used to prop the book on my lap with a small pillow for comfort and a better reading distance. I had lost that pillow and thought, "I wonder if someone created a pillow or holder for a book that I could find on Amazon?". Sure enough, they did, and it is better than I could've imagined. The Book Seat is absolutely perfect. It is comfortable and light and not only gives you a great cradle for your book but even has a page holder where you can be totally hands-off. This book stand/pillow is comfy on the lap, making it great for lazy days in bed or recliner. It is not stuffed too full, so there is room to shape and fluff it to the best position for you. The pocket in the back holds highlighters, spare glasses, earbuds and the like. The bottom tab is adjustable to fit books of various thickness though I believe there is a limit to how thick of a book one can fit in. I hang it on a command hook on my bedside table to keep it handy. Overall, it is a great book stand/ pillow. I gave it one less star only because I think it should be taller.
