Worked great. Easy instructions. Advice is take a picture of your old set up for reference. But it worked great. The added LED with codes is very helpful

Got this to replace controller that was thought to be bad; turns out the old board may still be good. Swapped to new but furnace still not working, already changed out the sparky thing (flame inducer?) and the flame sensor too. Wits end, called in the pros two rolled out to say that they the 25 year old furnace was dead and they'd be happy to replace the entire furnace for lots of $$; one of these (first one) I did not have a good feeling about because they announce house call fee AFTER they arrived; I tossed him his $20 and told him to step; these days the issue with service calls are finding good guys.
I did a yelp search and found
Apollo Heating on Geneva in SFO
had to wait a really long time to get them out; they were super backed-up. It was worth the wait. Guy walks in, looks at the unit, 5 minutes in he discovered the problem. Turns out to be the unit (wiring harness?) that plugs into this controller was kaput; he zips out to his truck; 10 minutes and $300 later at fraction of the replacement quotes .....furnace was working. I did not see the wiring harness listed here on Amazon. We kept the new control board in place; it is better because of the error indicator light which was not on the original board.
Oh about the controller, it came quickly, nice instructions, easy to install .. we have a Carrier furnace.

Glad I found this!

Save yourself some money, and buy a control replacement and install yourself. The company that came out wanted to charge me 600+ for board and installation. Glad I went DYI - took 1.5 hours to replace, only because we blew the fuse starting the furnace back up. Luckily, we were able to use the fuse from the old board. Had it not been for the fuse, we would have finished in 30 minutes. 9 months and still going strong.
The creature comforts of life are very much appreciated

I had a "tough time of it".
I had to deal with a faulty heating system and the end of this winter in Southern California - of all places.
It's still not over - and it's Mother's Day this weekend! (Happy Mother's Day, mom).
I tried a couple ICM281 boards from different vendors.
I had a lot of trouble with this - through no fault of ICM.
All units showed a "Reverse Polarity" error code. The likelyhood of this is very remote. On top of that, the thermostat also was not right. A "double failure" was found to be the problem.
The unit works great. My luck regarding this experience was a nightmare. The board is terrific!
I was broke and so I had no choice but to solve and fix the problem. I have an electronics background but it's limited to old TV/Radio technology.
My advice is to bundle up and take your time. Read and watch everything you can on YouTube. Never has there been the degree of help that you'll find on the internet. Good luck.

Work for Cold but not Heat mode
Homer Simpson•December 29, 2015
I got this thing to replace OEM (CES0110057-01) board. It works fine for cold air conditioning but when switched to heat mode it fail to restart when thermostat fall below a set point. Like other users mentioned it worked if you reset the board with main power switch. I think that it was way too sensitive with air flow or heat sensor. I returned this board to seller and got a replacement quickly. My commend for seller! Have not installed a new replacement board yet. While waiting for a replacement board from seller I bought and overnight a used OEM board from ebay and it worked.
Eventually I will have to install replacement board again to make sure it is not defective like first one.
