The case itself is beautiful; the latches are well made and a key is included. There is also a very decent sized compartment inside to store a tuner, picks, and any other extras. My Yamaha FG700 fits perfectly and the amount of padding is decent.

The only factor which prevents this from getting five stars is that the padding on the inside has come apart from the sides in a couple places. I do not want to go through the hassle of replacing it so I will probably just use a hot glue gun to secure the padding back. This does not take away from the protection of the guitar which is the whole point of the case as when the guitar is inside, the padding is pushed firmly against the sides. For the price tag, I think I got a pretty good deal on a hard case which will protect my guitar for a long time.

If anyone else has had a problem with their padding coming loose from the sides, please comment on how you resolved the issue. Thanks!

This fit my FG-700s and while I haven' gotten around to actually putting the guitar inside, it definitely seems like it'll be a great fit. While the case is a little on the pricey side, it's worth it. With cases I've had in the past, the lid pulls at the lip and eventually becomes misshapen but there's a seam over where the lid and bottom meet which I expect will keep the case from malfunctioning. There are three beautiful latches on the front and one in the back for extra security. One of the latches also acts as a lock and comes with one small key. I figure it will be difficult (but not impossible) to break into the locked latch. The handle feels very sturdy. My only complaint is that one of the latches was missing a bolt when it arrived, so it was loose on the case. I was issued a full refund and will be re-purchasing the case very soon. If it hadn't been for that bolt, this case wold have easily earned 5 stars!

I must say this is the best fitting case I have bought for a Dreadnaught guitar. The padding could be thicker but then it would be too snug. I would call this a medium protection case which is suitable for gigging, or traveling with your guitar. I would not consider shipping in this case without protecting in another larger box with foam or air bags. I have bought many hard shell cases which are for the most part generic in design. This case would not work well anything other than a full size DREADNAUGHT GUITAR. Yamaha FG owners beware this is not for you. Owners of Martin, Gibson, Yamaha, Epiphone or any other maker of the classic Dreadnaught shape guitar will be well pleased with this case. Beware the Dreadnaught dimensions do not vary. Any variation of shape constitutes a non Dreadnought guitar. They are all standard to all manufactures. If you have to ask if your guitar will fit you probably don't have a Dreadnought. I hope this clears it up.

Recommend this guitar case for an Ibanez AC240-opn. Amazon gave me a great price and the measurements with the case were right on for this guitar. I checked with Ibanez about the original case made for this guitar and wow, expensive. After searching the Net and Ebay, this was the deal I was waiting for. What enhanced the buy was a nice $50.00 bucks off with a card purchase from Amazon. The only con was a one-half inch clearance on each side of the guitar from the sides of the case which is no biggy for me because this case is well lined with a nice thick soft lining and I would rather have that than too snug. For this guitar you will like this case. This hardshell case is extra tough on the outside and extra plush on the inside. The outside finish is a shine you will love with no namebrand letters. I bought this case to replace a gig bag for an older Yamaha drednought guitar. For this price I was expecting a flimsy semi-cardboard lightweight case that was very basic. I was suprised at the quality. The sides are quite thick and strong with a good solid feel. The inside is black, plush (not overly) but definitely soft. I was expecting felt over cardboard stuff. The lid fits well and the latches are heavy duty and fit nicely. The handle is also of a heavier weight and feel than I was expecting.

I don't want to oversell it. I would not use this to check onto a plane or moving van. That would be asking too much, but for transporting in a car or train this case would easily stand up to that kind of abuse. This is a solid case for transporting you instrument around town. To be honest, I bought this for a guitar that I am retiring. It's the I don't want to sell it but I've bought a better one guitar. I was looking for something to give it more protection as it sits around the house. This case is way better than what I thought I was getting.
