Just what I wanted. I previously bought this same type of thread only in white at a quilt show, spending more. If you sew a lot, this is worth the investment in a larger spool. I use neutral colors in quilting so I wouldn't buy the colors necessarily.

This is absolutely the best thread for piecing a quilt. It makes block construction so much more accurate than when sewing with a standard cotton or polyester thread. When you snowball a block by using squares and sewing on the dagonal, they will come out perfect because there is no distortion from the thickness of the thread. This thread also runs very cleanly in your machine.
For those of you worried about using poly thread on cotton fabric, I believe that rule was negated quite a while ago.

This is great thread at a great buy. 50wt thread, which is sort of a must for most new machines. Although I've always been a purist about cotton thread for quilting...this poly thread is thin, tough, and essentially lint-free without giving the look, feel and behavior of some slick, slippery poly threads. My machine doesn't have a cone holder, so I bought a free-standing one to go with this thread.
