I have a heat treated Spectra winching synthetic rope (3/8" diameter) that I needed to lock stitch after splicing a soft eye. This was the perfect size line to perform this lock stitch, as the diameter was spot on, and its made of the same base material (Spectra). The lock stitch blends right in, and was easy to to work with.
I also have a decent amount left over, for any future lock stitching or whipping needs. This stuff is also really useful around the house for general purpose things.

I couldn't cut it with a knife, even a razor knife, I had to use dikes like one would for steel wire!
My hot rope sealing gun didn't work either, the jacket just turned brown but wouldn't melt. Not sure how the UV resistance is but so far I'm quite impressed.

I am using this cord to replace the cord in small engine recoil starters. It hasn't been installed long enough to determine how much longer it might last than nylon, but I am hoping it will last several times longer.
