Great quality by mediabridge, as always. Designed to last, not to feel heavy for no reason, like some other brands.
Great quality, low price

No sound delay whatsoever
Thick flexible cable
Excellent retention - snaps into ports and stays tightly connected
One of the least expensive ones I could find and made by a name brand instead of all of the identical chinese made low quality products that are overrunning Amazon under 500 different names. So frustrating, so I was delighted to find this and it's a nice quality cable.

I've read many reviews on Toslink cables and alot of them seem to have the problem of not being snug in the port. These DO NOT have that problem. I'd say you can't go wrong buying these, I bought mine for $7.99 (10 feet) and it's well worth the money. If you're a bit new to using optical cables you may be worried about breaking the port or cable when connecting or disconnecting the cable. Just give a firm pull to disconnect, and a firm push to connect. Don't worry about breaking anything, they will click when they are securely connected.
As far as sound, I have no problems with the cable itself (as far as I know). I use it on my ASUS P8Z77-V LE Plus motherboard going into my Yamaha RX-V463BL. I have seen the Realtek audio panel freak out about a cable being plugged in and unplugged, but this tends to be a common issue with realtek drivers according to some reading online. This is probably just the drivers or the front panel because when I disabled the front panel HD audio it stopped spamming me with that message. It has AC97 and HD audio, so when disabling the one that is actually plugged in you will not be notified due to the other not being connected.
It came in a plastic bag, new condition.

The old adage "you get what you pay for" may have some truth to it, but it may also be used to justify spending more than you need to for an item. With Brand Names, you are actually paying for a lot of advertising that has nothing to do the item itself. This doesn't make it good or bad, but it does make it more expensive. As a consumer, we use brand name recognition to gain some assurance (we hope) that a product is of good quality. Sometimes that's the case, sometimes not. But what if you could get an equally good or better product for a lot less money? That's called a good value and that appears to be the case with the Mediabridge Toslink cable. I really know very little about this cable or the company other than my short experience. I ordered this cable to replace an old different brand cable that was giving me trouble. After reading numerous positive reviews on Amazon, I decided to give this one a try. It was a third of the price of a standard one found at my local Walmart and a lot less expensive than the name brands. It appears to be of good quality and I have had no hint of trouble using it so far. Toslink cables are a bit fragile by nature as far as I can tell, so I doubt that any of them could really be classified as being very durable with lots of handling. My use doesn't call for much handling as it is in my permanent audio video system. Only time will tell but this cable really seems to be quite simply good.
Awesome!

First off, awesome product! Understand that digital signal is either good or doesn't exist at all. Toslink is natively designed to prevent interference because it is a fiber optic cable transmitting light, so you don't need to go breaking the bank to buy the greatest monster cable that's incredibly overpriced. No cable is better, unless the surface of the contact glass of one of the cables is scratched. Magnetic shielding won't help you too much (if at all) here. Now I wouldn't buy the cheapest one that looks like it's going to snap in half if you bend it, but one with a little bit of shielding. This cable is made of high quality that exceeds what is necessary to handle an optical signal transmission in most environments and best of all it's cheap! I bought this product after buying an hdmi cable from mediabridge, which also performed to it's expectation. the build quality vs. price ratio is solid. You don't see many companies that put out a high build quality product for a low price. That's passion.
Secondly, customer service is great. In fact, contact with them is the only reason I am writing this review. Shortly after purchasing this product, I received a well written e-mail that conveyed to me that they cared about me (the customer). Not something you get everyday from a business.
So, all in all, the mediabridge toslink cable is a great buy especially with its price bracket. Keep in mind that you receive incredible customer service for this cheap product so that's a definite plus. Something that you don't get buying from a solo seller. Hope this helps.
