Had a little trouble at the beginning but watched a video. Seemed a little lightweight but once I put my butcher paper on the spindle, it was sturdy and cuts the paper well. Nice to have the rubber feet.

I found a big roll of butcher paper at Sam's Club. At the time I was debating do I really want to spend $20 on a big roll of paper. I started doing what any reasonable human being would do in my position. I started rationalizing the need for something that I wanted. So here I was with a big roll of butcher paper and I started getting buyers remorse because how am I going to store and cut this thing. I started getting into my Mcgyver mode and thinking about going to home depot. The plan was set. I was just going to need a few things. A dowel, screws, rubberband, paper clip and duct tape. Don't ever forget the duct tape it can save your life! ..... But then I realized instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, I decided to pull out my amazon app on my phone. Lo and behold after searching for butcher paper. I came across this magical device that holds and cuts the paper for me. Best of all since I have little kids. The edge that cuts it is not sharp at all so it is also kid friendly. My daughter loves this since it usually means its less dishes for her to wash since I use for a lot of things. I would highly recommend this especially if you have a big roll of butcher paper like I did.
4 of 5 due to the fact you cannot mount it to a wall that is up high

The Unit is installed, and all was fit and finish fine. The only thing is the the way the dowel that runs through the roll is situated in the unit is that IF you want to be able to Mount it high, as in above your head above a doorway like I did. The part that lays down on the paper and is used to cut/tear the paper is not in a good position.
I'll try and explain if the Unit is on a counter top, the blade ( I will refer to it) sits at the top of the roll. Fine for that application. IF you want to mount it under a counter height or at hip level fine for that application. The reason is the blade sits at about top dead center. Now if you want to mount it up high like I did you cannot just Flip the unit over and have the blade in a good spot to tear off a piece. The reason is the way the the Unit accepts a roll and the dowel goes in. IF you flip it the roll will Fall out of the holder. So you are limited to the hang height. IF you turn it around then when you Pull on the Tear the blade pulls away from the paper via it's springs. Unless I missed a locking mechanism that would allow me to hang it and when I tear off a piece the blade will not pull away and create a bad cut?
I fabricated another blade where I can hang it up high, get a tear off and then take it off the Hooks and process via counter top. The solution would be to have a through and through Dowel and not an open side flange to accept the dowel. FWIW Hence the 4 outta 5stars.
