A lil dry and chalky, not the right consistency for our project.

Decided not to go any farther with this item because it came out dry and chalky which made it hard for hubby to use. I wouldn't order it again because it just wasn't the consistency he needed for his project.

I've been a maintenence tech in multifamily gousing for many years. I have used teflon tape, pipe dope and these dope sticks. I prefer the dope stick ultimately for its performance and convenience. It applies easily and doesnt get all over everything as badly as pipe dope applied with a brush. The hard outer portion is just a coating they apply to keep the middle soft. I have used this product on gas lines and water heater fittings and never had a leak! I ordered the 4oz stick because for whatever reason west coast plumbers have never heard of dope sticks so you cant find them anywhere. I have no info on this seller yet but if I have issues I'll update my review.

Exactly as described, decent price, quick fulfillment. This is a necessary item for running plumbing or air piping. It is soft, and in my previous experience does not harden like some other pipe dope.

this has a thin cardboard sleeve around the stick it and is brittle - it arrived broken into pieces, loose in the box. The little I could salvage was dry and fragile. This is inferior in every way to regular old thread seal in a tube.
