Handy to use. Effective.

Interesting stuff. Easy to use. No waiting. Great for installing metal housed seals in pool pump housings.
Better than tape

Works 100% of the time and makes a pro out of a rookie.
The only way to go!

For pool equipment with PVC and ABS pipe threaded fittings, this is the only way to go. I tried everything out there and this was the only thing that worked. I wish I would have came across it before the others and I wouldn't have cracked my valve trying to get dope and tape to work. Save yourself grief and money, grab this product.
Finally a thread compound that I can successfully make a joint without leaking

I don't do much plumbing but I am relatively proficient at it but have struggled with leaks. I have noticed on recent plastic fittings I have bought here and elsewhere that on the plastic mold seam running through the fitting there is sometimes considerable misalignment of the threads. I have learned that neither teflon tape or joint compound with teflon are supposed to be used on plastic fittings. This sealant doesn't have PTFE or any other lube in it so it is correct for plastic and because it is in stick form and is so thick it fills the thread mismatch better than any of the other joint compounds I have tried. I have also used it on metal to metal and metal to plastic joints with great success but be warned that the fitting is much harder to tighten due to the thick nature of the sealant.
Works well ONLY for plastic/plastic threads on pool installations.

Worked well for the large (2") threads on my pool installation
UPDATE: still happy with the sealing of the 2" threads on the pool installation, which never see more than some 30-50PSI.
BUT: Given the positive experience with the pool threads, I used it for a 20" whole house filter installation, to seal the plastic housing to brass nipple 1" threads. So far so good, I thought, when pressure testing and everything was good. By the next morning, the first thread started leaking, and after a month now, ALL threads are leaking so I just pulled the whole installation. This thing creeps in the threads and creates leaks over time. Not good.
Conclusion: UNSUITABLE for metal/plastic thread combination, at the pressures of my house system (varying from 60 to 110 PSI).
