I've ordered this product at least four times over the past year or so. I keep getting boxes that were manufactured almost two years ago. For example, The box I received last month has an expiration date of May 2017 so, although they are still good they are only that...still good. They've been sitting around since May 2012! I've gotten that date three times in the past several months.

This doesn't seem to happen with the other colors. Not sure why they have so many old Snaplights lying around but when I pay this much for a product that boasts a 5-year shelf life, I expect at least 4 or so good years out of them.

That being said, they perform okay. They aren't the brightest of the colors and they aren't the least bright either. They give off really bright light for a half hour or so and then several hours of ambient light after. They continue to glow very dim for hours after the 8-hour mark.

If there was a way to guarantee expiration dates prior to purchase I would probably bump my rating up to four stars but, until then, I just can't do it. It is a big deal to me.

I don't write many product reviews; however, I felt that the rating this product received was unfair. The other reviews that were left prior to mine were written because of a quantity issue. They were purchased from sellers other than Amazon.

I purchased my case of 500 from Amazon and I received a case of 500. They were manufactured about 6 months ago so still had good expiration dates (I have had issues with regard to expiry dates in other colors in cases of this size). I paid around $370 with Prime shipping...which is an excellent price on this item.

The product meets all expectations and delivers at least 8 hours of ambient light which is bright enough to read by. A couple of these will light up a room better than candles and they are much safer too (I would know...my last house burned down because of a candle, so we don't do candles anymore).

The blue color is among the three brightest colors. In my opinion, the colors from brightest to least bright go in this order: green, yellow, blue, white, orange, red. The blue is a nice neutral ambient light which gives off a blue cast but still offers enough light to see in the dark.

Warning you only get one snap light!! Not the "(Case of 500)" listed in the product header description. With shipping and handling adding another $6.10 this brings the total for one to $11.09. This product ad is misleading at best and should clearly state you only get one. I will obviously be returning this item.

I bout this for 4.99 and 10 in shipping on thursday day after christmas thinking it was
500 of them because it said case of 500 and number of items 500 and when i recieved it on monday it was only one not 500 for $15 dolars thats crazy for just one now i have to return it and get my money back
