These are pretty much what I was looking for in claw-type tongs. I don't use them for ice, but rather for cooking certain fried foods that I want to be able to grip and turn without sliding off breading or an actual chunk of the vegetable.
Precise, easy to manipulate and the grip is good. So, in that sense, I am pleased.
But that sticker that came on it -- really? It took me a good 20 minutes of scrubbing, manipulating, washing and scraping to get that thing off.
TIP: I finally succeeded by pouring baby oil (you could use mineral or olive oil as a substitute) over the area where the sticker is located and wiping repeatedly with a paper towel. More baby oil, and then scrape the area covered in oil with your fingernail and that will loosen up the majority of it. Run it under hot (and I mean HOT) water, squirt some Dawn dish detergent on it and go after it with a mesh scrubber. Eventually it will come off, but not after you've doused yourself in baby oil, dish soap and hot water.
Seriously. Someone needs to take an earnest look at why the glue used on the sticker is so incredibly adhesive. It's not like we're switching labels in some cheapie store, we're ordering from Amazon. There is absolutely no excuse and no need to have a sticker that takes that long to remove from anything.

The tongs for my vintage hammered aluminum ice bucket went missing during COVID no gathering time. Ordered these because they were cheap, looked workable and then was surprised to discover that slightly textured finish on the tong handles is a pretty good match for the vintage bucket. So win, win. Someone mentioned sticker adhesive as a problem but a quick rub with a dab of canola oil on a paper towel and washing in regular dish soap takes care of the adhesive safely.
